is the pope welcome
anything christian we need to embrace,
but i am rapidly going off this chase.
its total fraud because of the child scandal,
this topic is so sensitive, i must warn before i handle.
just like every religion, there will be some that convert,
a example is Muslims go to terror and Christians need to be a pervert.
should this country be non religious,
now the Joe will expect replies that are vicious.
the money used to protect the pope,
could have been used where people have lost hope.
i do understand i am not helping the issue,
but we need a debate, don't be sensitive, put away that tissue.
atheist need to be brought into this debate,
lets do a whole UK vote, all faiths and non voters are the atheist calculate.
then we can start taking control with the majority,
people like abu hamza will be stripped of all authority.
but the Joe No's this wont ever had,
the UK love to have religious debates on our pad.
(the joe no's this is a controversial view and i say sorry if anyone is offended by it)

Why not? Don't Catholic people in the UK have a right to celebrate their religion?

i agree with Stephen Fry on this issue. He should ofcourse be welcome to the UK, but i don't think he should be treated as a head of state. The Vatican is not a REAL country.
(kinda like Canada)------(totally kidding)

I guess I'd say he IS welcome, of course he is. HOWEVER, I don't think they should expect it to be paid for using tax payer's money. They should fund it themselves or from the Catholic community to save hassle.
I don't mind him coming her, a person's belief is what it is so if they have the opportunity for him to come then why not but I don't like when EVERYONE is involved in the process of him visiting here.
I also think that if all of this scandal hadn't of arisen then people wouldn't be bothered, like when JPII came over.

"the joe" needs to make his rhymes scan before he talks about himself in the third person.
ps
Catholics have every right to welcome him.

Of course he should be allowed to come here although I despise and disagree with his practices & leadership completely. What I don't like is that we're picking up the bill for the visit. He can come and go as he pleases but why the hell do we have to pay for him to 'grace' us with his presence?

If anything good comes of this, relations between Ireland and UK might improve. Can't think of much else.

I wonder how many would turn up at the Phoenix Park to see him.

No. This 4 DAY trip is costing MILLIONS of pounds of taxpayers money, and for what? So the idiot can roam the streets in his popemobile waving at people! If Catholics really want to see him they should use their own money and go to the Vatican to see him. That's what St. Peters Square is there for!
