It really depends on how long you've had it for. I'd suggest that you drink plenty of hot fluids and even have a hot bath to sweat it out of you, as well as loads of rest, while always keeping yourself warm. If that doesn't work then you may need to go to the doc. But yeah, I always try to avoid the pills until there's no other option left.

Will probably have gone by friday anyways.

But for cold symptoms...I usually hang my head over a bowl of boiling water...with a towel over my head. Sounds silly but it works. Its pretty vile though, all the snot and that comes out into the bowl :(

As for earache, I usually just wait that out. Someone told me to mix hot water and salt and dip a bit of cotton wool in it and stick it in my ear. So I tried it. It eased the pain a bit but then I found out later from someone else that you should never do that as it makes the infection last longer :S

Teaspoon of honey, squirt of fresh lemon and a teaspoon of sugar into a cup and add boiling water!

Then for the runny nose drop some Olbas Oil into a bowl of boiling water and sit over it with a towel over your head so that you're breathing in the fumes.

Also - paracetamol is your friend!

I meant I don't smoke like I usually do (10 a day) but as a heavy smoker, if I don't smoke, I'd probably kill my mother or someone totally innocent because it drives me mad. I smoke like 2 to 4 a day when ill. :hugesmile:

Ah right, that makes more sense.

When I am ill, I actually tend to smoke more, because I can't eat. if that makes sense. I kinda use tabs as a food substitute :laugh:

I have sorted the cold out pretty much just got an ear ache in my right ear now.

Warm castor oil on some cotton wool will get rid of ear aches/infections fast.
