Just wondering if any of you have tattoos, what was your experience like?
Was it painful?
Interested to see varied accounts of 'getting inked'.

Tatoo fads come and go, but you're stuck with the tat. I blame gobsh'tes like David Beckham.

I have 4. None hurt. the feeling was nice in a strange way actually.
Except for when they went over my spine, that wasnt so nice xD

Hangovers go away, tats don't.

What does it actually feel like? I can't imagine the feeling of needles being driven into me that quickly. :/

Never been interested in having one done cuz I'd probably tire of it after awhile.

Hmm.
I'm about to book my first (hopefully) this week. Just a simple black treble clef on the side of my arm, near my wrist (next to the bone that sticks out on the top of your wrist), it has a lot of personal meaning for me you see.
I've got a few piercings but I'm a wuss when it comes to tattoos, I've found...

I think you'd be a great design artist for them though.

Just found the experience irritating. Not painful. As someone once said on TV - "it's just an annoying little *****" :joker:

I've got 2. Planning to get the 3rd one very, very soon.
It surprisingly didn't hurt, I loved it all way through it.

Apparently, the closer to bone it is, the more it hurts

I was asked to try it out before actually. Just do a few doodles and send them in to a particular tattoo parlour in town. Could be interesting I suppose.

It wasnt painful..
It did hurt a little/feel weird when it was near my elbow.
Got mine on the back of my arm.
I dont like how many people have them though..
My first one was when I was drunk and so was my friend, he was training to be a tattoo artist at the time and we thought it would be an amazing idea to tattoo my leg with the most hideous and tacky cross ever known to man. I can't remember if it hurt much but its been lasered off and that tickled, but considering he was drunk he did a really good job!
My other 1 is just personal one for my dead friend really, didn't hurt and was done quite quick. Its basically his name with 88-07 underneath it
I want a massive design across my arms & chest or torso but I know I'll get bored of it and it will look crap when I get older so I'm a bit unsure. They'll just end up looking tacky

Surely though you'd not want tattoos when you're older? Like OAP's ages.

Why not do something now because in 50 YEARS or so you wont like it?
However Id only want a relatively small one, which has some meaning and on my back up near a shoulder, so you wouldnt really see it unless showing it off anyway.
Stacey.

Because you'd be embarrassed maybe?
I don't know, but if I see old people with tattoos I think it's vile. Makes them look a rough mess.

Just depends what and how many you get. Id only want the 1 myself if I were to get a tattoo.
People who have tattoos all over must REALLY regret it as they age though, they look a mess as it is, imagine when theyre tattoos all wrinkle.
Will look like theyve just been scribbled on all over!

you're my hero.
I got mine done above a wig shop.
Thats nothing, i got my first one on my forearm done in a council flat in Hackney.
Yeah though, my first one was kool, my second one on my chest was kool but it was small, my third one on my chest, which is big, hurt like a bitch but was manageable, and the chest is like the second most painfull area i was told.

I've got a personal one down my right side from under my arm to my hip. Yeah it did hurt a bit as its all ribs down there. I love it and its very personal so I'm the only one who knows what it means. I dont worry bout when I get older cos I'll have long stopped wearing bikinis and stuff so nobody except me and my partner can see it and hopefully he will think I look sexy whatever and not gross. I dont know if I'll ever get another one cos for me theyre not a fashion accessory and have to mean something very important in your life, which is why I wanted to get it in a more 'secret place'. If I do I might consider having it somewhere with a bit more of a cushion to make it less painful (like a bum cheek lol)
I've got one on the side of my foot and I'll tell you what, it was ****ing agony! I swear i could feel the needle actually touching the bone! Never again!! actually drew blood with my nails on the side of my face!

Aw Ouch!!!! poor you
Aw Ouch!!!! poor you
Aw thanks.. The nice ladies in my local maternity hospital said i have a high pain theshold which always confused me as A) I've never quite felt pain like it and the only reason I didn't scream the place down is because I don't like to make a show of myself and B) I demanded every pain relief option eventually until I was completely out of it!
But nah.. no more tattoos for me EVER!
