I can never understand people who do that, why not bring him to an animals home atleast if he doesn't want him anymore?

I don't understand people who do that...but from my experience (not that it makes it right)...shelters will not take an animal unless you mistreat it.

About a month ago now, our dog turned and went to bite one of Gavs kids. So we phoned the dogs trust, the RSPCA and few shelters as we needed to get rid of him because we couldnt risk him doing it again. And were basically told that unless the animal is being mistreated there is nothing they can do. I was gobsmacked to be honest.

So what are you meant to do?

Luckily though, we found a friend who was willing to take him. But if not for her...we would have been totally stuck. We couldn't have kept him, well not for very long...as the kids would have to stay away until we re homed him. And none of these places who are supposed to help in situations like that would help either.

Personally I would NEVER have dumped him anywhere. I would have found some way of getting round it...but in a way, I can sort of understand why some people feel they have nothing else to do :/

TBF he could have done alot worse. It's a terrible thing to do but just last week I read someone threw a dog off a motorway bridge and another bloke was seen on CCTV slinging his dog around by it's lead.

I just don't understand how people could be so cruel. Bring back hanging (for 100% proven acts of criminality) or implement an "eye for an eye" policy or it'll just get worse.

really? you can here. Not sure about the state run places (ISPCA) but there are voluntary animal groups who are much better to deal with and much more animal friendly who would.

Yeah we rang a few 'pound' type places. Though some...I would not send him to, he would have been better in the wild that going to some of the places round here :/

All the animal shelter charities too.

It was ridiculous.

All 'full' and only taking priority cases apparently.
