I was also listening. I really like it, shame it's a cover though.
Didn't give much away in his interview about an XF performance, just said 'if the fans want me there then hopefully' or something.

It's alright..
Preferred his others though like "No U Hang Up" and "No Promises".
It doesn't really feel like his normal style of music.

Noticed they played this in tonight's X Factor
I'm not a fan of Shayne's version sadly, partly because I love the Nickelback version and couldn't imagine anyone else releasing it.

Just over three weeks till release day and Radio 1 hasn't playlisted it yet, and neither have many other radio stations. It's been played once on radio in the last 30 days and the video still hasn't surfaced yet. He needs an X Factor performance or he's ****ed. He has been terribly mismanaged.

Yes, though the promotion has been dire so far [and I expect it to continue, I believe the chances of him getting a slot on XF are slim].
He has been terribly mismanaged, unfortunately.

If he's on Simon's label then he's on the X Factor the day before the single is released. If not then it'll be a missed opportunity and the label will have wasted a lot of money making a video and an album.

I'm starting to believe that they don't want another label to sign him, so they're leading him along for the time being, but will give him no promotion so that his single/album flops and so they have a reason to drop him [as at the moment, they have no reason to drop him - he's never really flopped]. Then the chances of another label signing him are slim.
I'd like to be proved wrong though - this will bomb hard without an XF performance. And the poor guy doesn't deserve it either after the hard work he's put in.

I'm a bit underwhelmed. I liked Shayne but I think this album he's putting out has forgettable written all over it; I too would like to be proven wrong but I think Syco just want him to disappear..

This is at #28 on iTunes right now. Not bad considering there's been next to no promo whatsoever. Just hope it climbs tonight and next week.

I know [although I think it's alright] - I just hope he does well because not only does he deserve it, but there are a couple of album tracks that sound fantastic and I think deserve to be singles [and should've been the lead single].

He's a legend, I wish he would re-release that's my goal, maybe abit revamped or something.. not that it needs it, I don't know I just want to see that song as Christmas Number 1 AGAIN 5 years on.

still disappointed with it but it's grown on me.
I'm pleased for him that it's doing relatively well; but it doesn't appeal to me. Also I fail to see how he's changed (appearance wise) at all since we last saw him on TV; he looks the exact same to me!?!

I think its more important how his next single and album do. He needs to sustain success not just get a top 10 hit on the back of one XF appearance.
There's no money in singles these days.

Really gutted. Disappointing really, I feel sorry for him - after all he's been sidelined for too long and has been terribly mismanaged.
I hope the album does better, I've heard a couple of tracks off of it that are absolutely fantastic [and should've been the lead single], so I hope they're the second single [if there is one]. The tracks are 'Obsession' and 'Must Be The Reason Why'. I'm gonna get the album next week and listen to the rest of the tracks then.

Him winning before Leona didn't help matters, to be fair. Had he won after her he would've obviously received more attention from the label and to be honest I reckon would've been fairly successful. That's not to say he hasn't been so far...six top ten hits and two platinum albums that went to #1 and #2 is not bad at all.
It's a terrible lead single, yes, but there's better on the album.

Solo male pop performers have just not done well generally in the past few years. The market seems to be all about female stars for some reason.
But Shayne is gonna be dropped soon. Hope he made a decent amount of dosh from winning. He needs to do what Stacey is doing and go for TV gigs.
