Sims 3 Ambitions is an Expansion pack?

If I were to just buy the expansion pack would it not work properly or would I have to have Sims 3 already? I'm a wee bit confused.

Please help me out :)

You have to have the main 'Sims 3' installed if you want to put expansions on.

Are the words "expansion pack" not a bit of a hint?! :hugesmile:

And by all accounts from folks I've heard talk of it, avoid Sims 3 like the plague anyway and stick to 2

You have to have the Sims 3 game or 'base game' first.

Then you can buy and install as many expansion/stuff packs as you like!

And don't forget everyone, Late Night is coming out on the 26th! :D

I like it, but I have to use it because all my Sims 2 games are for Windows and I just switched to Mac..

I got a bit bored with 2 as got really good at it so it was too easy. Everyone online I've ever known have told me not to waste my money on 3...........I guess it just becomes a trueism that 3 is rubbish. Sorry.

Hmm maybe as more expansions are released people will change their minds? I still use the old desktop PC every so often to play Sims 2 though lol.

2 was all on my laptop and I had a major crash on the laptop which required a complete flattening of the HD. I've never bothered re-installing for the reasons I mentioned.

Also, all the downloads from fansites were wiped-out by the crash. I'd failed to back all the stuff up on external and thought too much bother to start again.

Yeah I can understand that. When i first played Sims 3 it felt really weird lol - there was almost too much stuff to change and fiddle with lol.

And I only have the expansions up to Bon Voyagé :( and nightlife is broken.

I have all the Sims 3 ones so far though sooooo :dance:

Ouch. If something like that happened to me I'd go crazy loosing all my stuff. D:

And playing 2 on the desktop dinosaur (my nickname for our PC :hugesmile: ) is painfully slow at best. My MacBook is super fast compared to it :D
