Claims are circulating that Chantelle Houghton and her ex-husband Preston planned a fake romance in order to cash in following their stint on Ultimate Big Brother.

The pair, who divorced in 2007, are alleged to have engineered a plan to pretend they were getting back together to make money out of the story, Heat magazine reports.

A source allegedly told the celebrity magazine: “They spoke on the phone several times before they went back in. They discussed how much they would be paid, and when Chantelle found out Preston was getting £40,000 she went back to the Channel 4 producers and demanded the same." The insider added: "They knew that they were a valuable commodity as a pair, much more than individually."

The magazine also suggests that the duo later signed a contract worth £120,000 to “sell their story” together as a “couple” after leaving Ultimate Big Brother.

He is better than Chantelle and Preston put together though.

I loved Nikki and Pete together. Big characters in their own right but adorable together too! There was more "chemistry" when they saw each other for 2 minutes than 3 whole weeks of Chantelle and Preston being together..
