Simon Cowell has sacked his X Factor vocal coach just days before the first live final.

The 50-year-old music mogul was unimpressed when he heard his acts rehearsing and sacked newcomer Ali Tennant before reinstating Yvie Burnett, who he fired after the last series.

A source said to UK newspaper The Sun: "The new coaches weren't cutting it. The groups have a lot of complicated routines and weren't gelling at all. There are only three days until the live shows but when Simon saw the shambles he fired the new coaches and bought back Yvie.

"Now the singers only have a few hours each with her to get it right. The show is in chaos."

Tennant's manager Alex Field said they were surprised at his sudden sacking.

He said: "Ali proved popular not only with the contestants but also with the judges. He was the only vocal coach to be invited by Simon Cowell to his house in Malaga for the selection stage. He was extremely surprised his contract was terminated without notice."

aww I like Yvie

What the hell was Simon thinking sacking Yvie in the first place? She is brilliant and will be very hard to replace. It is a good job he has reinstated her. And I agree Zippy, Simon should see some sense and if he is sacking anyone it should be that useless 'choreographer' Friedman!

No, his voice got better. A Million Love Songs was one of his best performances. Jedward's voice never improved, but their performances did.

How I wish this was true but saying as it's the daily star, the chances of that are virtually nought. Nicole Scherzinger would be a much better judge. After all, she has talent whereas Cheryl doesn't.

I like Yvie too, of the little we see of her.
