I've only seen a few eps from the first couple of weeks (in 07 when it was on) but I always hear people saying this is a terrible BB etc. but I'm wondering if it's possibly been exaggerated how bad it is, especially coming after 5/6/7 which were arguably the peak of BB. I think I might download it sometime and watch it as I have done recently with 5/6/9, and I'm pretty much just asking if it was really THAT bad??
Edit: I didn't realise that there's a very similar thread which kinda makes this one redundant, so nevermind

Yes it is.
I heard everyone say it was ****, but I decided to watch it anyway. I LOVE it and it's way better than BB11. It has alot of drama.

Watch until Charleys eviction then give up.

Watch until Day 62, with Charley and Chanelle gone, it become a bit boring and dull. Except the stripper girl but she leaves a few days later.

Finally got around to checking this out
The launch actually really is THAT bad... I could barely watch the whole thing. BB launches are almost always bad but this was particularly terrible. I'm up to the first daily show now (think I saw the 3rd or 4th ep when it was first on) and I can't imagine watching more than one or two weeks of this... but I'm sure it won't be as bad as the launch.

Keep watching, it honestly gets better and better. You'll see fantastic characters develop like Charley, Shabnam, Chanelle, Ziggy, etc. Everytime I watched an episode it kept me wanting more and more.
By Day 3 things start to get really good.
I originally wasn't going to watch this series since alot of people didn't like it but I am, SO glad that I did as it's become one of my favorites now. Although I will admit it's definitely not as good now that Chanelle and Charley are gone but at least there are still housemates I like left.
Shanessa is a lunatic.
"I promised all my boyfriends back home i'd be faithful"
"I'm Shanessa and I swallow!"
"Oh, I've always wanted to be Jewish"
I think all the housemates are great. The only ones that are really forgettable are Jonathan, Laura, David, Seany, and Kara-Louise.

I actually really like BB8, enjoyed it better than 9 actually. But I would say about 80% of BB fans dislike the series.

How you can like BB8 better than the almighty BB9 is just abnormal.

bb8 gets too much undeserved hate, it's up there as one of the most confrontational series with some arguments over crazy things such as carole's piccadilly

BB8 is underrated but it got **** when Charley got evicted for the second time. Samanda annoyed me too.

Shabby and Caiohme were the highlights of BB11 for me, not the ****ty showmance of Josie and John James. Sam Pepper was another awesome character. BB11 also had the worst housemate ever though in the form of Steve Gill.

I can't even remember any stand out moments apart from the crisp-gate arguement (which was **** in terms of BB)

Bitch please! Not a single aspect of BB11 "pisses" over BB8.
BB9 is hardly even much better than BB8.
BB8 = most underrated series ever, by far
BB8 wasn't as bad as people made out. The problems was mainly the dodgy twists, the housemates and stories were pretty good
got some comedy gold from that series. i can still hear Lesley saying "keep calm and have a strawberry" then go on to moan how fishy they smell
also Brian p*ssing himself in the caravan, Chanelles breakdown when she got asked to play the violin, "its not you, its me", Shanessa's lapdance and just Shanessa in general "I'd love to be Jewish, they wear lovely clothes", Seany pulling Lesley's cover off her bed, Seany pushing Charley into the pool fully clothed etc etc etc etc

It's nowhere near as bad as people say imo.
There were great tasks, aggressive arguments, etc.

I have not got up to Charley leaving but I am really enjoying it. And honestly I am not one of those BB fans who only love the bitches. I can't stand Charley so I probally will never get board of the series.
The Twins are adorable and Brian is hilarious. Also Johnathan was brillant, shame he had to leave. His thoughts were blunt and spot on.

The first four weeks are amazing, and after that it gets a little worse each week. After Day 66's double eviction it's absolute sh*t and pretty difficult to watch. This series had a great cast, but every single week the best of the nominees was evicted, so the last four weeks we were left with the most boring people. This series also had the worst winner in history.
ETA: It's definitely worth watching. Days 1-66 are Big Brother at its best.

Worst winner??? He was one of the only likeable people in that house that wasn't a fame ***** just there for publicity. He actually loved BB. He was also entertaining and did things in the house unlike stay Ms. Racheal Rice.

He exaggerated his stupidity to be entertaining and endearing to the public. He knew full well who Shakespeare was and his over-the-top expressions of cluelessness he employed whenever he didn't understand something were unbelievably forced and transparent. I remember on BBLB they had one of his teachers on the phone and they said that Shakespeare was an unavoidable part of the curriculum. Anyway, even if he were being genuine, I don't find stupidity endearing, but more pathetic. He also flipped out like a toddler whenever Charley had an argument and made himself look like a d*ck, yet everyone seemed to be fine with this. And as if his 77 days on BB weren't bad enough, he's always on the spin-offs.
I do agree that Rachel Rice was horrible, but at least she faded back into obscurity after BB.

I guess so man. Its just that when the house if filled with bitches and wannabes I take any piece of kindness and likeabilty I can get.
I think I may be one of the only people on here who doesn't like appauling arrogant human beings because they are "entertaining." And I think thats why I enjoyed B11 more than others. Sure I love a good war every BB but a nice happy house full of good people is also fine if they are also entertaining (ie funny.) Nikki Gramme is my one exception. I guess its because her tirades were never laced with malice or arrogance.

I don't support appalling people, but I love my bitches. There's a huge difference between people who speak their mind and don't shy away from arguments (e.g. Charley) and someone who is just a nasty, malicious person (e.g. Alex BB9).

I have just got to the "drop off" point in many peoples minds and am still enjoying it. I enjoy peaceful houses too, especially after so much drama.
I think the reason it got a bad rep is down to it following the three best series ever. Watching it now and comparing it to the last few years makes it look SO much better. I forgot what BB was like when there was litterally something kicking off almost every episode (I'll give Charley some props there at least.) It also followed the infamous CBB and when people saw Big Brother going so PC it turned them off. Should Emily have been ejected? No. But it didn't ruin the whole series.
In my opinion this was a good series. Just not AS good as the 5,6,7 era.

The last few weeks watchin Liam trying to milk the public for that extra 100K was quite agonizing. "She's like an oonion...you peel off a layer and there's another layer..., she just keeps giving bock." Or something like that. :joker:

I loved the old microphone sashes they used to wear. Reminded me of an old postal service. "Delivery from Mr. Ziggy, this is for you Ms. Chanelle." "Oh, thank you, Zig, it reads 'please don't walk, I need you.' Aw, how sweet! But I'm still walkin". ~This is Big Brother, will Zach please put on his microphone.~ "FFS!"

Worse BB ever!!
the fakery of Chiggy and Bello left a bad taste in the mouth.
Too many replacements and it just dragged on and on and on.
Charley was great (the only star of the show)
Those god awful twins sucked too.
Underrated is BB4
