If its staged its quite elaborate as that lift definitely went down and you could see passers by in the mirrors so it must be in a real setting.

Some people, it's sad he died, but seriously, what was he thinking? It reminds me of the book 'The Darwin Awards' which catalogues the idiocy behind some people and how they have taken themselves out of the gene pool. It's a good read. :)
