Simon Cowell has vowed to help X Factor contestant Gamu Nhengu in her battle against deportation.

According to The Sun, the talent show judge has ordered his lawyers to fight the decision by the Home Office for the singer and her family to return to Zimbabwe.

He said: "We are helping Gamu and her family as much as possible and have lawyers working with her lawyers. It's not because we have to but because I really feel for their situation, and that's outside of the show."

A source added: "There is no obligation but it is a natural human thing to offer help, even though she is no longer part of the TV show."

Meanwhile, Nhengu said: "I genuinely fear for my life if we are forced to go back. I love the UK and want to stay here.

"I am so sad I'm not on The X Factor but I don't want people to blame Cheryl. I will respect her decision. I'm inspired by the amazing support I've been shown."

It is claimed that Nhengu faces "squalid" living conditions should she return to her native country.

All those toasting Gamu's exit and telling others to 'get over it', dont celebrate too soon. Cowell is powerful enough to get her a temporary visa, so lets see how it goes.

If Gamu does return I'd imagine she'd have one hell of a fan base. LOL

If she were to return to Xfactor now she would now have an unfair advantage with all the publicity and sympathy etc. It would be a farce.

Best all round if she is kept out of the show.

And I dont think her family should get special treatment either just coz she's been on Xfactor. If they dont meet the requirements for a visa then they should be deported like the thousands of others.

According to UK Visa information

Work permits must be applied for by the employer and are usually only granted for specific jobs requiring a high level of skill or experience.

I think she meets the requirements and would not be getting 'Special treatment'.

I love Gamu, but regardless of her temporary fame, her fanbase, or her talent, she is here without a visa, therefore her, or her family shouldn't be given any special treatment.

How do you get a permanent visa?

Is it Gamu's own fault she has got to go back?

She clearly doesnt meet requirements so therfore should be sent home otherwise every other person will use her case as precedent.

She clearly doesnt meet requirements so therfore should be sent home otherwise every other person will use her case as precedent. How does she not meet requirements? She will be doing a specific job requiring a special skill. She fits them perfectly.

Those asking fora better source, I give you the BBC (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-11507475)

No, theyre already using Makosi as a precedent. Because charging £1000 for a BJ is a skill this country needs!

According to the BBC article the only reason she was turned down was due to an admin error.

As long as she hasn't been given a Visa because of the X Factor and she matches the right Criteria there's no reason to be against it really. I do feel sorry for her if she has to go back though, Zimbabwe's hardly a holiday camp.

People are missing the facts slightly here....Gamu hasnt had a visa turned down, her mother has.
Her mother was here on a work visa while she was supposed to be studying by all accounts, but she then knowingly claimed for benefits she was not entitled to.
Its Gamus mum who is being deported and as her children were here via that original visa, then they to must go.
Gamu is 18 now and i guess can apply for a visa in her own right, but as someone who has had experience with this sort of thing, i know the Bureaucrats will want her to return home and applying from there.

On another issue, just because this girls life back home will be sh1te compared to what we are accustomed to here, it doesnt mean she should automatically get her visa....there are millions just like her in Zimbabwe whose life is at rock bottom in respect of poverty....in fact its like that for millions more around the world....but we as a country cnnot just allow them all to come here as a sympathy vote.

For all those that want her to stay and for her mother to be allowed to stay even though she is a benefits cheat, think long and hard about how the up and coming cuts in government spending may affect you and dont then moan when your child benefit is slashed and your local services are reduced while your council tax rises.

For all those that want her to stay and for her mother to be allowed to stay even though she is a benefits cheat..

Is she? :nono:

Thats the problem with many immigrants; they milk the benefits system for all its worth. Soon as they get here they have fellow immigrants telling them exactly how to get this & that. Ridiculous.

Im all for genuine cases but all the cheats and scroungers ruin it for the rest.

i don't think she is a willful benefits cheat, from what i heard it was a genuine mistake, but having said that,we have enough 'ministers' here who have ripped the system off,so I would think Gamus mums paultry sum would be what she needed and not for 'duck ponds' or second homes!!

There is not enough council flats or benefits for all these immigrants, although i do feel for them, europe cannot go on soaking up all these problems. Africa is a cesspit of human degradation, but they need to improve it themselves. If you see someone banging their head against a wall do you put a pillow between them and the wall so they can continue, or let them get a headache and learn to stop?

LOL. Coming from the one who screams RACISM!!!! every other post.

Like, LMFAO.

Why don't you post some more black hair weave demo's from youtube? Try picking ones that are below 46mins long this time though. Some of us have a short attention span!

Oh, and try posting them in a thread that has a hint of relevence to black hair weaves too. :xyxwave:

Apart from posting threads about racism, I post about other things around the forum. And is posting about hair offensive? I was suprised to find out you were a boy. I thought I was talking (or defending myself or arguing) with a girl about hair, not a boy. I posted about black hair, not weaves because Brian kept going on about Jo's hair "situations". And you seemed to have a problem with me pointing out that not all of us wear weaves and that white girls wear fake hair too.

You seem to be rude to whoever in every post, why are you so bitter? Is life a bit rough?:joker:
