Some of Pendulum's stuff isnt that bad actually, I still dont like most drum and bass though and dubstep is even worse, it gets played 24/7 in the Sixth Form common room and it's really starting to piss me off lol.

Jump up jungle is awesome. The likes of Micky Finn - great name - and DJ Hype are brilliant. Some of the heavy dub step is just too heavy but the bouncy stuff is great to listen to.

So boring. Amateur even. I don't know how people can criticise most dubstep and drum and bass and then call Pendulum good. If Pendulum is the only drum and bass artist you can stand, then you're probably better off never listening to electronic music again.

It's not closed minded to dislike a genre if you've heard a lot of it but still dislike it. Not everyone likes everything. If you didn't like Opera would you consider yourself close minded then? Not the best example but it's virtually the same thing.

I didn't mind that Sierra Leone song at a push although it was incredibly repetitive but by large I don't appreciate the genre, it's pretty much a few lines/verses/chords of some sort repeated over and over for five minutes.

Why do you say that, if I dont like the type of music that dubstep is then surely I dont like the genre :conf:

There may be one or two exceptions (possibly) but as a genre, I dont like it personally.

I personally think dubstep has arisen out of young society's inability to produce something musically creative [perhaps due to the vast amount of work before them and the resulting possibility of creating something too similar to an existing song; perhaps a misguided concept of what creativity is] and the opportunity to bash a few drum sounds.

I will never understand the kids that love this and then claim that classical music is boring. It's just bland and incredibly samey.
