Well, the original is great. But I imagine by the time they've overproduced the charity single and shot the video with them all gurning earnestly into the camera, it'll make me want to throw up.

It's gonna be godawful, it's gonna be all key changes and gospel choirs... It makes me ill to think about it.

:laugh2:
They should have covered the Stranglers No More Heroes Anymore. Perhaps next year.
Or perhaps Holding Out For A Hero. Or Billy Don't Be A Hero. Or We Don't Need Another Hero ....

This is actually my favourite Bowie song along with Life on Mars and Absolute Beginners. Like you I hope they don't overproduce it and keep as near to its original sound as possible.

You're talking to Stacey.x. She probably couldn't name 3 Beatles.
In fairness I haven't ever heard of it before. I know of a couple of his songs - Changes, Life On Mars & Space Oddity - but not this one.

and hardly any money goes to charity
The track follows the release of cover versions of Mariah Carey's 'Hero' in 2008 and Michael Jackson's 'You Are Not Alone' last year. Both tracks topped the UK charts and raised over £1m each for the charity.
