.... in Greece.
It's nice to see though series coming back - it original ran for 4 series in Greece from 2001-2005, and returns on a new channel this year. It's been running about a week.

Argentina, Holland, Germany and Africa also saw the show come back after a few years break - and I'm 100% certain one day, whether in 5, 10 or 25 years, BB will be back on our screens. I'm still hoping though for a few years break - a comeback next year on Five would be destined to fail, but give it a few years and whatever channel it returned on it would probably have a fighting chance of running for a few seasons.
25 years?
When you consider the changes over the last 25 years it's impossible to predict that far ahead.

You learn from the past though - most of the big entertainment formats around today (Strictly, X Factor, Got Talent) have their routes in the seventies. There is little doubt one way or another some kind of Big Brother will be around for the next generation of talentless wannabes.

Effectively the second come back for Argentina then. It returned a few years ago after a break of about 4 years and effectively had three series back to back, then the next series just kept getting postponed.

Slovenia back too with a celeb edition. A Latin American version featuring HMs from seven countries beginning in the New Year too.
I guess with BB dying off around the world the price to licence the format rights is probably falling and countries like Slovenia - who Endemol effectively priced out by asking too much - can now afford it once again.

Germany didn't had a break, since 2001 we had BB running every year, the last just finished a couple of weeks before the UKs one ;)

Actually not quite true - there was nearly two years between BB3 (2001) and BB4 (2003).
Also add Sweden to the comeback list!

And I belive that they changed Loft Story in Canada (Quebec) after I would Say A year off to restructure it into Big Brother Quebec (A good Logo Too if you've see it, was the american version logo at the first stages of production in auditions) where it is the only other country to play the american version Rules until Finale week where it is the old fashioned Public vote (I think they also had a public eviction vote one week). would that count as a comeback?

Not sure it went away long enough to be counted as a comeback, and it was pretty much an open secret during the final series of Loft Story it would comeback as Big Brother.
I think there were a few years between Loft Story and Secret Story in France too.

2002 to 2007 so 5 years.
Looks like it's the end for some of the biggest versions (UK and Germany) but a fresh new start for some countries. Big Brother is not done yet but it looks like the new format will be taken from Secret Story rather than just Big Brother on its own. If you notice, a large majority of the versions we see today include secrets and secret missions.

Secret Story is probably the newest adaptation of Big Brother as real since tweaks with the introduction of Head of Household (2001), The Battle (2001), continental versions (2003) and to an extent Evil BB (2004) and the twin twist (2004), no country really came up with the next big development in the format, and hence why it began to die across the world.
Adapting a Secret Story style twist unfortunately probably wouldn't have worked in the UK - the press would spoil all the secrets immediately for the viewers and wouldn't think twice about trying to get the info into the house either.

The secrets are always spoiled by the press. I mean, in France, we know all the secrets by day 4/5 due to Facebook, tabloids etc... But at the end of the day, it makes people talk about it and that's why Secret Story is on top of the ratings every Friday night.
What killed the UK version is the lack of interest from the press. If the producers thought about another format (secrets or not), the press would have been interested again. But then they didn't.

Another comeback - and back to the motherland as the show returns in the Netherlands (again), although as Secret Story. More and more countries now launching with the Secret Story format.
Also Croatia and Serbia are set to have a joint series.
