This has no chance of succeeding.

Although I said the same about RATM last year.

I joined the group a few days ago. I'll probably buy it, would be a laugh to hear nothing on the chart show for 4 minutes.

It's bloody stupid, just so the winner doesn't get to #1

Well actually, even if Wagner won [which he blatantly won't] I'd even prefer him to get to #1 than that ****.

Ramsay

its not nothing
the song is basically all the sounds you hear around you while its on
its meant to show that music is always happening

Stupid, but id LOL if it worked again.

Whoever starts these groups have no life at all.

LOL, I clicked play even though I knew there was no sound and realised nothing would change.

Haha sooo hope they do it! why should someone get a number one for covering a song & making it worse than the original? I'll be buying :)

lol well i'm a dumbass then, i can't think of anything more appropriate for a christmas number one than 4 minutes of silence. incredibly powerful. I love x factor, but i will be downloading this and hope it succeeds.

Strong statement!! "Music sucks these days i'd rather hear nothing!"

Though it was fun the first time to protest, it's getting silly if you're going to base your career on going against an act at a specific time of the year. Oh well if Cher wins i'm signing up for plenty of copies of this masterpiece

Tom

the song is basically all the sounds you hear around you while its on
its meant to show that music is always happening

Then why do you need to buy silence to figure that out?

If cher wins then definetly downloading

Benjamin

Actually at the time this was a ground breaking piece :)

And will still sound better than the bad cover from the x factor "winner".

Benjamin
17-10-2010, 08:11 PM
Also ( i can't find the article at the moment) it has a strong celebrity backing to get this to number 1 over the x factor :)

I really like this idea of Gamu being no.1 instead. It will be a kick in teeth.

Ugh for god sake.

Just don't bother with another campaign this year, you proved your point you rock loving wits.

You broke our 5 year long XF string how awesome, now just let the public buy what they want.

As if that will outsell Wagner :joker:

I've always thought it'd be better to get a failed winner of XF like Steve to Christmas #1 with their winning single in one of these campaigns. Imagine how pissed off Simon would be? I know it defeats the point of now having an X Factor winner as Christmas #1 but it'd still be funny and would stop the current winner getting it. Infact this year they could do it with Joe's 'The Climb' seeing as he didn't get it last year. That would be good :joker:

But if all else fails then they should just pick a Christmas song...seeing as it is the Christmas #1. That'd be much better than some RATM crap.

Patrick

Oh my god.

I remember on Christmas week when RATM won and Joe lost and I went on a posting strike.

Jesus I deserved to be shot.

If you don't like the show why watch it? and why try and spoil it for those that do,people should buy what music THEY like, and want,NOT what someone else thinks they should,What IS the matter with people?that they have to be led by others that just want to spoil things.

Some people do like the show but don't like the fact that they get a guarenteed number one spot for badly covering a song. X factor & the charts are to separate things & I don't see how stopping an x factor contestant to getting number 1 spoils the show?

I hope thats not aimed at me personally :conf:

But in general I agree, but I think its funny that some of these anti-X Factor campaigns like to try and make a stand for not doing what you're told to do by the media. Last years "****** you I won't do what you tell me" was rather ironic when 500,000 went and downloaded a song because someone on Facebook told them to :joker:

I don't see the problem. Not everybody who bought "Killing in the Name Of" last Christmas even liked RATM. It was just because of how inherently funny it would have been for RATM to get the Christmas no. 1. The same applies with John Cage.

Sounds brilliant!

Although I would prefer a "Christmasy" song to get to number 1.

Maybe a campaign to get Shakin Stevens "Merry Christmas Everyone" to number 1 again!! :D love that song!

"Merry Christmas Everyone" was Christmas Number 1 25 years ago!!!! It would be amazing.. 25 years later it is number 1.. AGAIN!!

Come on Shakin Stevens!!!!!

I'd be happy if this went to number one over the dull X factor winner. Viewers who go 'crazy' for the artist who won, then a few months down the line never want to bother with their 'winner' again need to learn that x factor is, now, a waste of time. :)
