View Full Version : Dermot; what a tosser!

He is seriously spoiling the results announcing. He just does some of them too fast and you can't even hear him sometimes! The contestants often don't hear him say their name.

Sort it out FFS. So annoying and he really shouldve been told by now.

Bring back Kate.

Well I like him hating Louis.

But with a whole hour to announce the results he has no excuse for rushing it in such a sloppy ass way.

Realistically the next presenter is going to be Christine Bleakley. I'd like them to bring back Holly and put her on the main show but its not going to happen. Ideally, Kate should come back

Stacey.

I know right! I didn't even hear him say Mary.

He's actually told to say them that fast by producers, it's not really his fault, its just because they have so many performers and there on a tight schedule etc

MTVN
17-10-2010, 08:07 PM
Yeah, he annoys me when he does that. He always argues with the judges as well, maybe he gets told to or something but it's annoying whenever a judge criticises an act and then he says "well they're still here aren't they" or something like that :bored:

He shouldnt have kept pressing Simon for who he would have sent home as well :nono:

Mary didnt hear him for 10 seconds.

Dermot is just no good at this kind of thing. He suits a more intimate show like BBLB.

And no way is that Bleakley woman gonna present Xfactor. She has no experience and isnt even popular!

Simon likes Christine, ITV obviously like Christine after paying her over £1m a year, Daybreak is failing so they need a big show for her ... Dermot might be leaving to do the American one so its the most logical option

Don't hold your breath for the return of Kate or someone like that

what do they shout; announce the next name in a very quiet voice and do it while theyre distracted by congratulating the previous person who got through.

I doubt it. He could easily wait a few seconds and say it in strong LOUD forceful way. Not difficult. His casual delivery is pissing me right off.

It's not his fault...it's the producer in his earpiece. He's just following instructions. The reason they can't hear him is because the crowd won't ****ing shut up.

Dermot's great and far better than dull and too serious Kate. She was atrocious.

They probably don't allow him a few extra seconds and simply shout 'NOW NOW NOW!' or something to that effect.

And he actually does say it pretty loudly, but there are people in the audience screaming over the top of him. Mary couldn't hear Dermot because the act who got through before her was One Direction - the teenage fan girls in the front row must have been deafening.

I think he's a good presenter and I like him but he's definitley gotten worse this series. He just seemed in a rush to get the show finished tonight, didn't even bother to tell us the musical acts for next week.

He's always rubbish at announcing the results. He just is.

And the idea that he has producers shouting in his ear EVERYTIME is ludicrous. Its not always that chaotic. They do rehearse and plan things y'know.

He can't project properly or do suspense. Its a skill he aint got.

Actually, Ryan Seacrest on AI is also rubbish at announcing the results.

Even Mary didn't hear him say her name that she was through so Zippy is spot on, I don't see why he needs to announce 2 at once anyway, cut some of the chat out and there'd be plenty time to give each act their moment as to going through.

Hates a strong word. He has brought Dermot back this series so I doubt he hates him.

But Dermot's not special enough as a presenter to bother putting him on a top rated new big show like US Xfactor. He was well known and liked over here but over there he's a nobody.

His radio show is also great.

Dermot is very good and because of that it looks easy so people think "I could do that" they then get mad that they are not doing it for loads of money (even tho they could not) and then hate on Dermo.

I think the bloke is a good MC. He's pretty anonymous and doesn't try and take the limelight, the acts and the judges are very much the stars of the show.

What utter BS. You love Dermot, we get it.

But as a presenter on XF he's has been bland and forgettable. Seriously, he has hardly been mentioned since he took over. His attempts at bitchy banter with the judges always falls flat and looks awkward. The way he suddenly SHOUTS out things in a growly voice is cringey. When big stars come on his little interviews with them look clumsy.

He's just not great at the job. Just about competent but nothing special or essential to the show. Could replace him next week and I doubt many would even care...or notice!

Dull dull dull. And he stinks at announcing results.

If the show had a presenter with personality who actually entertained us inbetween the, mostly awful, performances you'd soon appreciate what a great host can do for a show.

But on XF we've only had Kate and Dermot so viewers just don't know what theyre missing out on. A great host ADDS to the show and often makes viewers watch the show JUST to see them. Thats what great hosts are all about.

Dermot is not a great host. Mr likeable but dull. Thats all he'll ever be. BBLB was his ceiling.

Dermot's rubbish at the job. I like him as a presenter, I think he's a good guy but he's not right for the X Factor. Konnie's crap on the Xtra Factor too. I don't want to see Christine Bleakley take over the job. I'd rather see someone who actually knows how to present, can multitask presenting with listening to instructions and can convey the necessary suspense needed for the results to make them entertaining.

I actually like him too(surprisingly after me slaughtering him) but he is just not big enough for the job.

He was perfect on BBLB coz it suited his more personable and intimate personality. But it gets totally lost on a big stage and he's suddenly Mr bland nobody in a suit.

Definitely; he's clearly a people person and takes an interest in getting to know the acts and I do feel that his interviews with them at the end of a performance are genuine conversations, but he's not good at presenting on a big stage and he definitely does become a bland nobody up there.

Ant and Dec are great hosts, they can smooth over production errors easily and add a bit of humour to whatever show they're presenting. Personally I'd like to see a relative unknown take on the job. I know it'd never happen, but somebody with the personality of Ant and Dec and skills that are up to the job would be ideal.
