View Full Version : Simon Cowell Lost his bite
I don't think I've heard him say one remotely mean thing about any of the contestants so far? Even Cheryl's been a bit of an arsehole; what's happened to Simon?

I think he's just realising that singing ability isnt a neccessity in being a popstar

He said Storm was nothing but a failed rock star. Other than that hes been too nice, maybe he'll be more harsh now that he's lost another act.
I was wondering this, he used to tear into the contestants if they did anything wrong, now he just looks like he's refusing to criticise them. There's definitely been performances that deserve criticism but you wouldnt know it listening to him.

Simon realised that before he even started out in the music industry. I just don't get why he's not criticising people like he used to!

Playing to the public. He's the same on BGT. Turned into a soft touch. As if he likes kids and performing animals really....

Simon Cowell has become a caricature of himself and now says things for effect. Just watch as he says his stuff and turns to look one side to the other as if he is telling the masses rather than the artist. His coments are telegraphed and so cliched and he seems to act as if he is some Guru or Prophet.
Maybe the Jedward factor has got to him as he criticised them so much and they still went on to be big bucks for him.
Agree Simon's bluntness is one of the best things about him and he's also often right - he's defended the 'singing contest' all along yet now he seems to be saying its not about the voice when he defends certain acts. He's always been consistant - consistantly naughty lol and thats why I've liked him. I don't want a watered down nice Simon Cowell - he's lost his mojo for me

He is bigging up the show with one eye on the USA

Agreed. It seems like he's past it; I'd say Dannii Minogue is now the only judge who ever gives a proper criticism of any given performance; Louis sits there and tries to wind up Simon; Cheryl says something bland and nice and then looks at Simon to check if she's done it right and Simon seems to be lost in his own little world nowadays, with no interest in what's going on around him. He's clearly too busy thinking about launching the X Factor in the USA to put any real time or effort into the X Factor over here. I'm stunned that, in a competition with 16 acts and four per judge, he's lost two by Week 2 and another of his have already been in the bottom two. He's definitely lost the magic!

He seems to save most of his ire for Dani and Louis these days. He certainly laid into Dani on Saturday for one of her dance arrangements, but doubt she had that much to do with the choreography anyway.
He is cosying up to Cheryl, who he has lined up for America, and I feel a bit sorry for the two he is bullying.
