Official Press Release:
ITV signs new, three-year deal The X Factor & Britain's Got Talent with Syco Entertainment and Fremantlemedia
ITV is delighted to announce a new three-year deal for The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, the UK’s two biggest television formats. As part of this renewed collaboration with Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia, the broadcaster has also secured exclusive UK broadcast rights to the American version of The X Factor and America’s Got Talent for ITV2.
Under the new agreement, which extends ITV’s successful nine-year relationship with Simon Cowell until 2013, Britain’s Got Talent will return to ITV1 in late-spring 2011, and The X Factor in autumn 2011. ITV2 will also continue to broadcast hit shows The Xtra Factor and Britain’s Got More Talent.
Simon Cowell said: "I am thrilled this deal has been concluded with ITV to enable our relationship to continue to develop. I am committed to making sure both shows get bigger and better every year. I have a lot to thank ITV for; they have been key in making The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent the UK's biggest television shows."
Peter Fincham, ITV Director of Television, said: “The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent are the shows that have helped define the last decade of television in the UK and have become more than just a talking point: they are a national obsession, and I’m delighted that our viewers can continue to enjoy them on ITV over the next three years.
“I’m especially pleased to have agreed a deal that cements our successful relationship with Simon Cowell, Syco and FremantleMedia over a longer term. I look forward to working with them as we continue to develop both shows and keep them at the top of their game.”
The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent are the UK’s most popular entertainment television programmes on any channel. The two shows provided the most watched television moments of 2009 with peak audiences of 19.3 million for The X Factor final and 19.9 million for the Britain’s Got Talent Final.
This year’s seventh series of The X Factor has been the most popular ever with viewing figures across every stage reaching record levels. Almost 17 million watched the second Judges’ houses show, and yesterday’s second live results show peaked at an enormous 15.2 million; the highest ever at this stage of the competition.
Online, ITV.com/TheXFactor attracted over 95 million page views during the 2009 series with over 30 million video views across the run.
Sara Geater, Interim CEO, talkbackTHAMES said: "We are very proud of our productions and the incredibly talented team behind them. We are delighted with ITV's commitment to the shows and that our successful relationship with Syco continues to flourish."
ITV will also become exclusive sales agents for all television, online and interactive properties for The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. A new revenue share agreement for iTunes’ downloads of live performances has also been agreed.

Not surprising, Simon Cowell axing the UK X Factor & BGT is about as likely as me crapping gold.
If the old man on SCD can manage doing the American one and the British one at the same time then I'm sure Simon can considering hes always jetting to and from the US anyway
I'm guessing XF USA will air in the January American Idol slot, would be pointless if we got it 2 days after transmission. Probably wont watch that either though tbh

UGH WHY!
Jesus Christ,
Why don't they just keep the Americasn bollocks were it ****ing belongs!
IN AMERICA.
You don't see them airing BBUK, I'm A Celebrity UK, or our X Factor there do you?
JEBUS!
Hope it ******ing fails.
We have our X Factor that's all we need, and we're very happy with it.
****** off America.

Knew they would show XFUSA on ITV2, especially if Cheryl is one of the judges, can see the ratings for it being very high.

No point in showing BBUK there because when they tried our format it flopped
No point in showing I'm a Celeb there because they won't know who any of the celebs are (we struggle as it is) and their main show was a flop too
They don't show X Factor UK because they don't have their own so its pointless
They don't show BGT because AGT isn't that big in America
That's good news. I knew this series wouldn't be the last, I'm sure when the final series comes we will know it's the last one.

Of course they would of shown it,
They always do.
Here's how it works.
We [Brits] Create a Good Idea.
Americans Cheesy Shows Fail in USA.
The Second a show becomes a massive hit in the UK, BANG!
They snatch it off us.
And then they air it and cheese it to the max and ruin it, and make it out as if they created it first.
Then they seem to think we care what they are doing so fair it here.
INSTEAD of just airing UK Shows in America they have to go and pretend like they thought of the idea first.
I just don't get why they feel the need to air it here when they don't even air our ******ing shows there!

I heard they are planning on showing old BBUK Series in America actually but I read that months ago.
Fair point with IAC actually.
I also don't understand like how come they have X Factor USA now aswell as AI?
Surely they should of just had one or the other, like how we gave up Pop Idol for X Factor lol

I'm actually quite excited for X Factor USA now that it's going to be broadcast on ITV2. I tried American Idol and never liked it, but with Simon in charge hopefully it'll near enough be a carbon copy of our format [except with different Judge's etc]. Hope they get voiceover man on board, just so it feels more homely for us :D

:joker:
X Factor, I'll give you that.
BGT? Um No.
Big Brother is the original national obsession, talking point, and THAT show defined a decade like it or not.
I'd hardly say X Factor or BGT 'Defined a Decade' as much as I enjoy X Factor nowadays LMAO

I think The X Factor USA will have to air in late 2011 because the January slot is usually kept for American Idol and I can't see why they wouldn't want to show that anymore.

NO!
If they get him on board then it may aswell be X Factor, I'm not even going to say UK on the end of X Factor I swore I wouldn't because I'm going to stick to calling it X Factor because we are X Factor and they aren't.
But yeah they may aswell just air our version then :joker: If you're gonna have:
The Voice Over Bloke -Which I doubt seeing as they'll most likely get some guy from Texas.
Simon
Cheryl - I bet the yanky lads will act as if she's theres.
Dermot - Bitch just return to your little spin off shows.
Then yeah you may aswell just not make XF USA.
It'll be our version, only with alot of American Acts talking with annoying accents and trying to be all OTT.

I'm wondering that if Cheryl goes to America she won't want to come back and like you said they'll act as if she's American property. :(

They are making Leona perform for them too in 2011, her single from upcoming album.
They took our XF Talent, Leona
Nope. Premieres Sept 2011 on Fox.
I meant ITV2
Patrick, seriously, what's your issue with America? It's a massive country, their policy has always been bigger = better and so what if the X Factor becomes a roaring success over there? It originated here, they can't change that fact, even though it clearly bothers you, Simon is going to launch it over there and do his best to make it happen. I can envisage a panel of Simon, Katy Perry, Nicole Scherzinger and some other male American music-industry celebrity. Jeez...
I'm glad it's returning, I never doubted it would be!
No X Factor Zimbabwe though
Gamu will be on that one!

*goes to destroy patrick's posts but realises pointing out the flaws in them are redundant as they're plain to see for anyone.*
Patrick you know nothing of how TV works and it's just laughable when you try to explain things.
