i just got rudely woken up by some LOUD knock on the door twice, and then i went to answer it and they'd ****ed off and left. it was british gas though, they left a card thing saying they wanted to check the meter but no-one was in.:mad::mad:

srsly can't they be more considerate. it was bloody 8:50.

British Gas are notoriously inconsiderate, True people do work at 8.50 am but that is not so with everyone, people who work nightshifts for example just getting in at 8am and going to bed, then getting this bang at the door at around 9am. would be massively annoying.

Its very easy these days to ring people and say the readers will be in the area on such and such a day so you could arrange to be thereIf a British Gas customer you usually give a number to reach you on when you sign up) but to just call at 8.50 am is a bit off.
If you had young children for example, you could be seeing them to school at that time too.

This!

Just get out of bed and answer the door, if they've gone then don't worry and go back to bed if you wish.

why should i have to get out of bed, early and in my pj's to answer the door?

Don't then. Stay in bed and ignore the door. Then deal with the card when you've had your sleep. :)

I just ignore it, I know my mates will phone me before they knock at my house, and they all know I'd be asleep in the morning anyway unless it was a work day. Same with the house phone, I know if isn't anyone for me so that gets left. A few seconds later the phone has stopped ringing or the people have walked away from the door, and I can get back to a nice peaceful sleep :) Like I'm gonna do right now actually.

I know exactly what you mean, some people just do NOT think of others, like cars parked on footpaths and bins left on paths,so if you have a pushchair YOU have to go on the road,it makes me mad,and yes the gas board are particulaly bad with the time they call,do they not think that some people work nights or that babies may be sleeping, people should realize that other people deserve some consideration.

You may do,but some people are going to bed at that time, some people work shifts,I see no reason why anyone needs to be at anyones door before 9.pm.

Benjamin

I do agree that they shouldn't be there before 9AM. I myself work some late shifts, and some people work nights. There is no need to be there that early.

It's a weekday not a sunday morning, 9 o clock isnt that early. They cant just wait to start their job until midday on the off chance that the person at home might be working a night shift or something like that, and even if they did they would be asleep most of the day so when would be a good time to come round?

Jack_

I thought the times companies are allowed to knock on your door are between 8AM and 5PM or something? I know it would piss me off if I were in your situation, but to be fair it is a weekday and not the weekend. It would be a different matter if it were the weekend...

No, but not everyone works 9 to 5. If they want to arrive before 9AM then they should inform the person prior to the visit so they know they need to be up. The companies know they will be going to that house before hand, it's not like they spontaneously decide that morning to go to that house :)

My neighbour buzzed my telephone door intercom at 8.15am..on this past SUNDAY morning! He'd forget his main door key and needed to be let in. God I was so pissed!

And Ill never understand why every bloody thing has to be done in the early morning. Fire alarm checks, deliveries, workmen etc etc Whats wrong with the rest of the day ffs?

Why twist peoples words?NO one said to wait till midday? 9 am is usually the time most people start day jobs, you try ringing some of these companies before 9 and you usually get a message to call back during working hours,NO one needs to be there before 9 am,unless of course there is an emergency,a good time to come round is during working hours, usually 9to5,when people are up and starting the day.

Jeremy Kyle was great today. They had an alcoholic who spent his benefits on 50 cans of lager per day. Riveting stuff.

i wouldn't be bothered if it was after 9, because that's when most people start. just pissed because i didn't manage to sleep till 7am, and then getting woken up nearly 2 hours later has put me in a bad mood.

And people seem to forget,if someone sleeps late it does not make them workshy or lazy, some are,but not all, they could have insomnia,be ill,or disabled, they could be up late at night for all sorts of reasons

i have really bad sleeping problems, and i often sleep loads during the day when i can. that's only to make up not sleeping in the night though. i don't stay in bed to be lazy or anything.

Face it, its your sleep pattern thats the problem.

is said after though.

it's not really my sleep pattern though. i get tired at like 11pm like normal people, and i feel tired enough to sleep but i can't. i just end up laying down trying to force myself to sleep for hours. and then when i finally sleep it's only for like a couple of hours.

That's life, move on.

Yes, so you're annoyed.

You're off school for some reason so just thank yourself lucky you could go back to bed, instead of having to be up earlier than that to get ready to go to school.

i don't go to a normal school. i'm off like half of the week.

Stephanie

If youve got special needs you should go to school MORE than normal children not less.

Half a bloody week? Sheesh.

Sounds like youve fcked up your sleep pattern by staying up nights then having to get up early etc. Your body is just used to sleeping in short bursts at weird times.
i don't have special needs.
i got kicked out of school, for not getting up in time and missing school, and being badly behaved :L
and now i go to a school for people who got kicked out. like a pru or something.

i just go for an hour on wednesday and thursday and sometimes monday.

Isn't really funny tbh.

I don't think you can start moaning because you've been woken up, yet millions of other kids have to go to school, not just for an hour, but 6 hours a day -5 days a week. Sounds like you've had it easy.

If you'd behaved then you'd be at 'normal' school and wouldn't have the time to make a thread moaning about someone waking you up at 8:50.

Sounds like you've got it very easy, and you've still got your Internet despite your dad saying he was taking it off you. Hmmmm.

Just my opinion.

had it easy? you seriously think i've had it easy. you don't know **** all about any of it, so you can't really say that.

and yeah i have, he decided it was unfair of him seeing as i wouldn't be able to keep in contact with my friends.
