I actually got banned(no, never) on another forum. Then when I logged back in I could see the moderators forum for some reason! For the next 6 weeks I was tipping members off if they had been reported and warning them to be careful. It was very interesting reading the mods discussing certain members and also seeing who the biggest reporters were...lots of tit for tat reporting.

Then I stupidly told some big mouth my secret and then found out they were friends with the owner of the site. Doh.

Unlike this forum the mods needed a majority vote to give a ban. So often they had to wait days for mods to come online to vote before they could act.

A warning is just a reminder to calm down, you get no points for it and it doesn't work to a ban. An infraction gives points towards a ban :)

Insult to other members is generally used either as a first infraction...or if the insult is not particularly bad

Insults to other members, is usually if the person insults loads of people in one go, is a serial offender (:laugh: at how official that sounds) or if it is a really bad insult.

I dont tend to use these though, I usually give custom ones, we can chose how many points, and how long it lasts :)

It depends what people have done.......like if your spamming you get a warning.....(sometimes a warning might just be a Mod telling you in a thread though) also we dont have to warn you, we might just want to warn you.

The infractions expire after a certain amount of time.

Say you got 21 points, and one of your infractions expired DURING your week ban. this means that the next infraction you get is another automatic ban. Its just how it all works. And one of the reasons I tend to give longer lasting infractions than the 10 day ones.


The best way to avoid this, is dont get up into double figures :p
