KATIE Waissel has shocked X Factor fans by claiming: “I’m more talented than Cheryl Cole.”

Katie Waissel has told pals that her mentor is “unprofessional” and cares more about herself than the show.

And Katie, 24, has also revealed that she does not trust Cheryl’s judgment.

Her claim came despite Cheryl, 27, having had more than 20 top 10 singles. But Katie said not only is she a better singer, but that she will win the show without Cheryl’s help, telling a pal: “I’m better than her.”

Cheryl has vowed to prove Katie wrong when she performs her new single Promise This on this Sunday’s show.

A show source said: “Katie doesn’t rate Cheryl as a mentor. She believes that Cheryl doesn’t invest as much time in her as she should do.

“It angers Katie that Cheryl hasn’t come out in support of her to help change negative opinion.

“But Cheryl knows that’s not her job and feels that Katie has brought a lot of it on herself.”

Katie has been at the centre of a hate campaign since winning a place in the live finals, despite messing up her audition.

There is also tension because she thinks Cheryl is pouring all her time and attention on Cher Lloyd, 17.

Well she's got a point......

If this is true though, bit stupid to slag off your mentor. Katie needs to get her head out of her arse otherwise I can see her going home very soon. She's nothing that special.

There's a very dark side to Cheryl though.However moaning at your mentor especially after she put you through to the live shows despite you not being able to sing,shows great ingratitude. Really X factor would be better without either of these 2.

Is it only me who thinks that this waste of space probably realises she has no chance of winning the thing but understands that any kind of publicity is good publicity so she's thinking of new ways every single day to get in the papers? The girl's a joke.

Not entirely, but there's no smoke without fire and just from watching her and seeing how she acts I know that she's a major wannabe. Fairly obvious really.

To be fair...she DOES have a much better SINGING voice than cheryl.

The article's just taking blatantly obvious facts and claiming Katie and Cheryl said them. Katie has a better singing voice than Cheryl. Cheryl clearly invests the vast majority of her time in Cher, with little regard for the (or not nearly as much importance placed on the) other girls. Cheryl has done very little/nothing to try and change public perception of Katie.
