Oh, it was a different scene that I'm talking about, near the end. I wont mention it here cuz there's obviously people who haven't seen it, but wow.... Pixar really know how to play with your emotions.

I saw Love Story when I was like 9 and have had a vendetta against it ever since cos I thought it was so depressing, though I barely remember it.

Agree with Jords about Seven Pounds.
And definitely Toy Story 3, the furnace scene...oh my god, stupidly intense.
The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas
The Green Mile does every time...more so now because I was watching it when I found out my dad had passed away.
The scene in V For Vendetta about the lesbians who were arrested and murdered for their sexuality was horrible, and the letter Valerie left for Natalie Portman's character :(
Milk, for the ending with the candlelit vigil.
Changeling is desperately sad throughout.
Mystic River.
Doubt.
The Pianist.
Vicky.

I dont know why, but Jack...with Robin Williams always upsets me something rotten.
Not the ending or anything, just the thought of it all :(

Omg I thought this thread was new. :blush2:

Might seem like a bizarre choice given that on the surface it's a dark comedy film about rave culture but I watched it again recently and it scared the **** out of me like a punch to the face. It carries beneath it's innocence a heavy burden of mental instability and social alienation in a way I found entirely relevant and realistic moreso than something typical like Green Mile or Schindler's List.
This is the only film I can think of because I don't really watch 'sad' films and if I do find it hard to get upset.

The terminator thread on here reminded me that the original Terminator movie actually was a very sad story. It's poignantly sad how Reece was given that beat up photo of Sarah and he always wondered what she was thinking at that moment and at the end it's revealed that she was thinking of him. :bawling:
One of the saddest moments in any movie I can think of is what happens to Brooks in The Shawshank Redemption.
