I'm getting a bit bored of Matt

I think he's peaked really, I like him but he's essentially the male Treyc. A jack of all trades but a master of none. He hasn't got a niche and that's making him a bit boring really as most of his performances are starting to become a bit boring, he can sing anything yes but the lack of something special will cost him in the end.

He hasn't got any charisma at all and he always looks nervous, head down and doesn't speak much at all. he seems like a nice guy but nice guys finish last as the saying goes

Just because he sang them really well in his audition, bootcamp and judges houses stages, she seems to be stuck in that rut with him now. It worked with the Travis version of Britney, but last weeks was awful. Give him something he can show some personality in and grow in confidence with otherwise I can see more and more people getting bored with the same old thing every week.

If he was a woman he'd be in Treyc's shoes really and he wouldn't be as highly rated and he'd be accused of not having anything unique about him, because he's good looking through he'l get a free pass to the top 5. He's a good performer and he's still one of my favourites but he's slipping, perfection is boring.

I want to see what he'd be like as an artist snce you can see the type of music that most other contestants would release but with him I can only see generic soft rock in his future at the moment. He hasn't got a hook of any kind.

Yeah something like that would be good, or even a Maroon 5 song, his voice reminds me a little bit of Adam Levine's.

I agree with the comments regarding the song choices, also that Treyc seems to be doing a Matt too.

The two are very talented but the songs are incredibly self indulgent, Treyc keeps showing off her Whitney Houston belting out and Matt his top C. The melodies are all over the ******ing place and in Treyc's case you want to reach for the ear plugs half the time. I reckon she was in the bottom 3 and that is why she was the last one saved.

Their fans want to get real, you may enjoy their vocal gymnastics but lets just hear something that the viewers want to listen to. Stop ******ing showing off.

Edit. I think Matt is the most talented singer on the show and in his fan club on this site, no bias with the above.

They need to find his niche otherwise he won't make it to the final as he'll get boring and unlike last year there'll be a much tighter race to win.

her catagory is the strongest this year imo,its just sad that nicolo got lost in the crowd in week 1.

I was wondering that too.

Matt has a strange 'problem' in that he is just about a league of his own in this when it comes to straight-up singing excellence (and all-around musical talent and ability).
So really his record here is:
1. excellent.
2. excellent.
3. excellent.
4. excellent.

Someone like Paige can keep winning us over being 'good' and then each week seems to improve that 5% and we remember it!

Cher played around by showing us she could rap and dance (uhhh) then when our expectations were low she could do the obligatory 'evening gown solo' and only needed to be 'average good' to win favour.

What does Matt do?
Another near perfect and simply excellent performance?

But for sure one thing he may want to do is just one song where he does move around a little and engage the audience.
The 'fun song'.
Show a little personality. Then the next 'serious sitting solo' becomes more interesting again.

Matt's problem is that he thinks every song he has to make his own encouraged by the judges and probably half this forum who think it is clever too.

I'd just like him to stick to the original melody and not murder it with Craig David up and down pissing about.
