Nadine Coyle only sold 117 CD copies of her debut solo single on Monday, according to official chart figures.

The Girls Aloud star - who's released Insatiable exclusively through Tesco's record label - had digital sales of 2,439 - meaning her final numbers on Monday were just 3,212.

Nadine, 25, is now sitting at No 35 in the mid-week chart.

'Her single is just about showing in the list of this week's Top 40 bestsellers, which I imagine she won't be happy with,' HMV spokesman Gennaro Castaldo tells the Daily Star.

'It may make her question the wisdom of tying up exclusively with a supermarket chain - excluding a number of fans.'

Nadine has also suffered from not making it on the Radio 1 playlist.

In contrast, Girls Aloud bandmate Cheryl Cole's single Promise This remains at No 1 in the mid-week chart with sales of 28,567 this week.

Bad times for her

No idea why it took the media two days to report Monday's figures - today her chart position is #26

Sales on monday would be confirmed on the tuesday, but the papers have gone to print already so they can't confirm till weds?

You'd have thought some websites would have cottoned on earlier though

Apparently she's now up to 5,200 sales

Its all in how you spin the figures. Nadine sold 117 hard copies in a day, Cheryl sold 566 across the week so by the end of the week it will only really be downloads setting the difference

It's actually quite hard these days to find a place selling CD singles unless you go to a decent sized HMV store or somewhere similar. Larger supermarkets stopped stocking them a long time ago and places like Woolies have disappeared.

+ it's only Tesco that sells it :L

More fool her then. I wonder how many people actually buy physical copies of CD singles any more though apart from fans?

I have a two-story HMV and even in that there's only a little shelf near the counter with about 10 different singles on it.

Haha

Always said her solo career would bomb. A good voice is no use without good songs...and the likeability factor.

She's too snooty and full of herself. And sooo LA now.

Girls aloud don't even need her IMHO. She hasnt been hogging lead vocals since they ditched Louis. And they became bigger than ever as a result.

Poor Nadine. Cheryl has hardly promoted either. Her biggest exposure was Xfactor, and apparently Cheryl didn't want Nadine on xfactor. What a bitch this woman is! And what idiots they all are to let that arrogant chav take control of anything just because she looks good in makeup and hair extensions

I believe in you Nadine. You've got the talent don't look for quick fixes and give yourself time with the right material. You're one of the best uk voices. :(

Rubbish. No surprise you choose to believe it though!

Nadine just isnt big enough to grace Xfactor. Nowhere near.

Do you have proof it's not true? I'm more inclined to believe it as anyone promoting these days seems to pass by Xfactor and with the reported beef between Nadine and Cheryl...

If there was no beef why wouldn't she ask Simon to promote her friend?

Like I have to disprove every silly tabloid story? No. Some stories are clearly made up and thats one very obvious one!

Nadine would never ever have even been considered for XF so there would never have been a need for Cheryl to say anything against it. Common sense.

And Cheryl can't just get her mates on the show. This is big business prime time TV not some local karaoke night, love! Anyways I don't think they are close anymore. Probably because Nadine was always selfishly swanning off to LA and messing up GAs schedules and plans constantly. None of the girls seem keen on her anymore.

Bottom line is if Kimberly had a single she would promote it on that show. Cheryl seems to have some authoritative hold over Simon i'm sure she could make things happen if she was inclined.

Anyways, she's a lucky one. Not much talent all the right exposure.

I really want to know the details of this blatantly obvious rift between Nadine and the other members of Girls Aloud; I thought it was extremely telling that all of the girls bar Nadine appeared in interviews for Cheryl's Piers Morgan interview, I thought it was also very telling that Nadine said she'd had no contact with the other girls "in a while" during a Scott Mills interview. It seems to me as if they all wanted a break; and then Nadine high tailed it off to the USA to try and make it big, spent about 6 months too long working on her album in L.A. and not enough time getting in check with reality. There's no doubt that Nadine is the voice of Girls Aloud; but she's dug her own grave as far as her current media personality goes. She needs to pull her head out of the clouds and be the one to suggest that Girls Aloud reunite. Cheryl's clearly only releasing solo music for fun, she doesn't need the money and she doesn't need the extra exposure - she's just doing it because she wants to release music. I think that, if those assumptions are correct, then Cheryl would be more than willing to get back into a Girls Aloud reunion. Sarah, Kimberley and Nicola don't seem to be doing all that much these days, so to me it seems as if Nadine is blocking a reunion by being impossible to contact. Hopefully once her song and album have flopped (which is a shame by the way, she's a very talented singer and clearly invested a lot of time and effort into the album) she'll come back to reality and realise that people know and love the girls the best for what they achieved together!

Anybody ever thought that maybe Nadine is not the problem in the "rift" but of course the other members are going to side with Cheryl because she is the Queen in the UK and they need to keep their profile up?

Cheryl does what Cheryl wants regardless, she feels she has power that's why she chose the 2 that flopped in the judges house because she feels she has the power to do what she likes regardless. Her face screams evil. Unless Nadine is prepared to kiss her ass like everyone else she'll never work in this town again y'all:bawling:

I think I also read somewhere that the charts are not official anymore. they just make someone number 1 if they choose?:conf:

Not really; Sarah Harding doesn't seem to have made any effort to "stay on Cheryl's side", it just seems to be a clear cut case of Nadine losing contact with her band mates, and not the other way round. Also, Girls Aloud were all on a level playing field for the entire time they were together - Cheryl only rose to the level of fame she's at now through the things she's done since Girls Aloud's hiatus. And as for the charts - that's just not true.
