You don't need to have entered a talent competition to be able to tell what is good and what is bad,
but,
I think it does change the 'compassion' angle if you had gone through some kind of X-Factor experience.
Has anyone here entered something comparable to X-Factor or even some local or private type Talent competition?

The closest I have come was playing guitar with a local band once. Thankfully, my mistakes were all drowned out by their volume,
but,
you know it is a strange thing I could see times where audience members (maybe guitarists themselves?) would be carefully studying every move, chord change, strum and as if 'intensely analyzing' what I was doing.
Strangely unnerving!
Just from that small taste I do have a lot of compassion and actually admire ANYONE who will put themselves out there like that.

Anyone here audition for X-Factor,
or
Any comparable type of competition?

Share your experience?

*Thinks*

There was that one time I went on Pop Id-

No that wasn't me, um...

No I haven't tbh, but I plan to when I reach 16.

No, never. I hate being the centre of attention and even feared receiving swimming certificates at school!

I regularly perform to an imaginary audience in my bedroom. They love me.

Not exactly the same but...

..I was talked into being a costumed character at this event. Keep in mind I was anonymous under this costume.
I now know what the stand-up comedians means by 'dying on stage'. It was so poorly received... ...I felt like my entire soul or spirit was draining out of me.
Despite being in an anonymous costume - I felt like I was standing naked and in some cold dank room ugh.

So not really an X-Factor comparison but wow... after that taste of 'death on stage' I cannot even imagine 'bombing' on a stage.

But again it does make me admire.. or give credit to anyone (no matter how bad) for at least having the courage to put themselves up there.
