Okay, so I'm a fan of Shayne, but I've seen this clip posted around various forums for years now but never actually bothered to watch it [and I don't remember it from the Final either]. But then I finally did the other day, and ***** me, I see what the fuss is about...

I think he was a worthy winner that year. But talent contests are not the real world.

In the real world you're up against lots of tough global acts and need actual sales. You also need personality and good songs. I think he sadly lacks these two things.

Also, some acts need to win to stand any chance of success(Shayne, Leon..) whereas other acts(Cher, Diana vickers) would be better served by not winning as it would be too constricting for their style. Theyre better as underdogs with no pressure to succeed.

Shane has always had a very good voice. Added to that, he's now developed quite a lot of sophistication and style. I really like him a lot. Also, he is very single-minded about his career. He deserves to do well.
