Why is this still relevant? She punched her, clearly she was being annoying for it to have escalated to a punch; presumably she was drunk and she was young when it happened.

Seven years ago. It's funny how every night someone will have been punched just like this woman was, yet it never hits the press/no one ever cares, especially seven years down the line. And it's also funny how most people have changed in seven years, yet don't think Cheryl can change too? Ask yourself - were you the same person seven years ago? I doubt it. Or, if not, ask yourself are you the same now as you were when you were 19/20? Again - I doubt it.

It was seven years ago and people get punched/assaulted like this every single night. Get the **** over it.

2 sides to every story. We only ever heard the toilet attendants and its funny how this is the ONLY dirt people have on Cheryl and it happened SEVEN years ago

Keep digging :pat:

It may be the only dirt people have got but its some pretty good dirt. Cheryl was found guilty and has never fully commented on the situation other than to say she 'regrets' it. Surely if she was less than 100% guilty one of her army of PR people would have prepared a carefully written statement stating Cheryls supposed point of view.

And what dirt would that be? That she's punched someone? She isn't the only person to punch someone you know, in fact there are probably less people who have never punched smeone than those who have. The woman prosecuted her because she was famous. And toilet attendants are possibly the most annoying thing in the world. And lets not forget she was drunk too, who doesn't do out of character stuff they regret when drunk?

Sophie Amogbokpa's story changed when she realised the money she could extort out of the situation - the racist aspect of it only got added to the story later. I think it's unfair to keep holding this against Cheryl, but it seems like people aren't willing to let it go.

I havent and I doubt most Fm's have either, but Princess Cheryl the nations favourite has. Also, the lack of comment from her speaks volumes. If she'd have been treated unfairly I'm sure she'd have said so by now.

Fair play that she's taken the punishment without whining but dont act like this is nothing.

Shes never said anything other than regretting it because she took responsibility for it, how does that speak volumes? The only thing that she denies is racism which as Zee points out was only added into Sophie's story later on.

The other key point is that Cheryl said she was acting in self defence. Without hearing both sides, how do you know there isn't more to it? Just because nothing is said doesn't mean it didn't happen. And black girl cries racism and the CPS lap it up.

Have you no regrets in life?

Have you no regrets in life? Her silence speaks volumes cuz her fans act like the assault was justified. If that was true then surely Cheryl would have said so.

Cheryl was found guilty and the girl was not charged I dont see self defence.

The racist element was clearly a case of opportunism - I'll agree on that - but the charges stuck and thats all that counts.

No it doesn't, it the silence just says that Cheryl takes responsibility for it. It doesn't justify it but it means nothing more. Cheryl did say to the courts it was in self defence but because Cheryl didn't have a scratch that claim was thrown out the window but it still doesn't mean anything. As I said, 2 sides to every story. I get the impression Cheryl would just rather it was forgotten rather than dragging up a dead horse and at the time it was damage limitation to Girls Aloud who had only been going for a month. Dragging it out would have made matters much worse.

There are multiple reasons for no statements made, the most obvious being she or her PR team didn't see the point.

Its amazing what top class PR can do. People will not let this go until Cheryl makes some kind of statement but it looks like she cant because she knows she was completely in the wrong.

in which case she accepts its wrong and has learnt from it so why can't people just let it lie?

I know she's said before that she regrets it but not in an in depth interview like that. She seems to be relying on the fact that people will just forget but they wont and her permanent record will always how this indiscretion. Cheryl is the only one who can end the little pops that people have but atm she chooses not to do so.
