Some people are absolutely clueless. This won't 'wipe his smug face off' at all - infact it'll please him even more. More votes = more money. And a Wagner win would be extremely controversial and would deliver even more press attention for the show, meaning the hype for the following series would be even larger - thus meaning it'll grow even more and make him and ITV more money. Infact, this is probably what they all want.
