For those on here who are saying that public votes can't be rigged...... think it's time to remind you that ITV were fined almost £6million in 2008, for doing exactly that. ITV also fell foul of fair play in 2005 for vote rigging as well....

so anyone who wants to pretend there isn't something going on.... think again!!

I don't know about a fix but something smells rotten on X Factor this year. Especially between Simon and Cheryl.

No thanks, I'm happy to put up a thread to discuss the possibility - seeing it's my opinion that it might be plausible, so no,I won't 'get over it'.
(pretty disrespectful post coming from a tibbs staff member btw).

I have a question about deadlock, can anyone answer?
Does anyone ever notice whether Dermot already has the enveloppe in his hand before the judges decide to go to deadlock?

Def something very suspect. Very. As I said earlier, ITV aren't exactly new to rigging....

No it's not plausible, not really.
Just accept it and move on, Aiden wasnt that good.

14-11-2010, 10:13 PM
they have no motive whatsoever to do it.
you seriously think Katie and Aiden are that important for them to risk a major scandal and lose possibly millions of pounds?

It is plausible, ITV had done it before. Therefore they could do it again, they have the money to pay the fines - after all, these shows bring them in millions upon millions of £'s.
Strange how Katie had a contract in America and the XFactor bought her out of it eh, that gives them every reason to want to get their monies worth from her. ;)

They've never done it with X Factor though. If they were going to fix it they probably would have made sure she wasnt even in the bottom two so that there wouldnt be as much of a ridiculous uproar
It's a lot more plausible that your precious Aiden wasnt as popular as you thought he was :pat:

Hate to burst your bubble, but Matt's the one I support. Not Aiden.
Aiden however has consistently been better than razor chin Katie.
so what if it's never been done with Xfactor before - says who... maybe they just never got found out. Plus, there is a first time for everything.
It's plausible.

i dont think the votes was fixed as katie was on rebound plus being on later than aiden.

it is possible they planned to take it to deadlock then made katie out to have more votes this way we can get the blame for not voting enough. clever.

Here's a little snippet from a DSer. Also refers to the Xfactor buying Katie out of her USA Contract..... with a guarantee that she'd be on the Xfactor tour.

There's no smoke without fire, that's my view.
This stinks to high heaven.
i see your point but i am not sure if ITV would risk rigging votes again
I do believe though that Puppet Master Cowell orchastrates the way the sing off will pan out. I dont think it is a secret anymore that he along with the producers is aware of who is in the bottom 2 prior to the official announcement
Tonight, before the sing off, I said to my hubby Cowell will vote with Cole, Louis will vote Katie out. To me it was so obvious and as he already knew the voting numbers he knew that it was win win for him as either deadlock or Louis would get rid of Aiden and keep Katie
Just my opinion but as I said, i dont think ITV have rigged it but I do believe Cowell has engineered it

There's definitely something off about this year. Thats why Wagner needs to win to stir the sh*t. As I recall the BBC were also implicated in a vote rigging scandal.storm.
From the auto tune scandal, to Katies contract, to the judges house fiasco and now Katie hanging around like a bad smell. This year is a pivotal year. I hope Wagner can get the votes to disrupt the show and hopefully get it back on track.

Yep, he's had to keep Katie in, long enough for her to be eligible to be taken on tour.
Complete and utter rip off, has been since they let her and cher through Boot camp.
How some cannot see it's rigged, or as tate put it, 'engineered', is beyond me.

in all honesty im not that durprised if aiden got the least votes. he was dire, and for me the worst performance of the night. so although it was still a shock, i think there's a method to this madness!

So yeah, they'd want to be fined £6m again just so that someone wins a talent contest? :s

I think this is the 'BB7' of X Factor
Its all downhill from next year I reckon
I think this is the 'BB7' of X Factor

I think you are right there Tom ... Simon Cowell is completely making fools of the public and insulting their intelligence this year and it is blindingly obvious
They are ruining a great show, just as they did with BB, and I fear you are correct in that the only way is now down if they continue with these insults to the very people who put this show on the map

Thank God that we did go to the public vote and we found out that Katie was not rock bottom. She got through on merit.
Let's face it had it gone to the mentor's vote this week we would have had made up headlines like Aiden got ten times more votes than Katie and other vindictive c**p about her not being able to sing.
The more ridiculous the personal attacks on Katie the stronger she will get.
I really doubt that Treyc got three times more votes than Katie last week.

Do you not get it? There's no rule stating that an act can only be saved a certain number of times. I find it oustanding that after seven series people are still failing to grasp this point that this rule does not exist. Simon, Cheryl, Dannii and Louis can save an act as many times as they wish - that is, after all, what their vote is for. It's their opinion and their vote. Not yours, not mine, not anyone elses. Once two acts are in the Bottom Two it is not up to you, me or anyone else who goes. It's up to the Judges [and, in the eyes of some people - the producers, Syco and ITV]. It has been that way for seven years. The public's opinion is totally irrelevant unless of course it goes to Deadlock. The Judges are entitled to vote which ever way they want, for any act they want. It's got nothing to do with 'fairness' as rules which prohibit them from saving acts numerous times do not exist. If they want to save an act seven times - they can. That's what their job is - to Judge, mentor, and cast votes. Not your votes, their votes.
If you don't like them casting their votes on your favourite acts then I suggest you and the rest of your favourite's fanbase vote for them, because that's the only way they stand any guaranteed chance of surviving. Like I said, once they're in the Bottom Two - the public's opinion is irrelevant unless it goes to Deadlock. It has been that way for seven years. Get used to it.

...and that's relevant because? I've bolded the keyword in that post. 'Used'. He 'used' to. Yes - but he doesn't anymore, does he? Is he not allowed to change his ways? He's certainly got a lot nicer in recent years - so he's changed that about himself. He is allowed to change, you know. Change his opinions, beliefs and morals - just like everyone else is. He's still human.

His fans obviously didn't vote enough then, did they? Most of them probably assumed he was safe so didn't vote - so I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles. In future I'd advise everyone to vote for their favourites if they don't want them in the Bottom Two.

how would you feel if next week one direction and katie hit the bottom two its one directions first time in the bottom two but its katies fifth and they got rid of one direction wouldnt you be upset that your favourites got robbed of a place?

Nope, because:
A) I didn't vote, so I'd only have myself [and the other fans] to blame
B) I still like Katie anyway - so it's a bittersweet thing
