Welcome to the Twilight Appreciation Thread.
Twilight is a series of four vampire-themed fantasy romance novels by American author Stephenie Meyer. It charts a period in the life of Isabella "Bella" Swan, a teenage girl who moves to Forks, Washington, and falls in love with a 104-year-old vampire named Edward Cullen. The series is told primarily from Bella's point of view, with the epilogue of Eclipse and Part II of Breaking Dawn being told from the viewpoint of character Jacob Black, a werewolf. The unpublished Midnight Sun is a retelling of the first book, Twilight, from Edward Cullen's point of view. The novella The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, which tells the story of a newborn vampire who appeared in Eclipse, was published on June 5, 2010 as a hardcover book and on June 7 as a free online ebook.

Me too, I love the film and the books so far. I can't wait for Breaking Dawn, the book is easily in my top five books ever and considering how awesome the films have been up until now I have high expectations for it lol. :hugesmile:

Oh I can't wait for Breaking Dawn either.. it is by far the best book! To me the books aren't a patch on the films but are ok for a quick Edward fix! :D

The books are a lot better than the films I do agree. I'm weird though cause I read Breaking Dawn first after I watched all three other films. After I watched them, I thought "pfffft I cba to read all these books when I just watched the films, lets skip to Breaking Dawn ^^ ! ".

Twilight is awesome so far, I'm up to the part where Bella is about to go round to the Cullen's house for the first time. Reading Twilight has really shown me how much stuff they missed in the film. :shocked:

Oh I can't wait!! I just wish Stephanie Meyer would keep the story going.. I'll feel like there'snothing to lookforward to after both Breaking Dawn films are out.

They' re immortals so she could actually keep writing about them for evermore! I would actually like her to develop the Renesme/Jacob story.. In fact there's so many ways she could go!

It would be very interesting to see Renesme grow up from Jacob's point of view, even more interesting to see his feelings change from Brother-Sister type love, to Boyfriend-Girlfriend love.

I don't think SM is gonna be writing from Bella's point of view anymore, I remember reading somewhere that any future books that continue from Breaking Dawn are gonna be from Renesme's perspective.

Producer Wyck Godfrey announced that the first part will cover the wedding, the honeymoon and the birth. The film ends just before Bella "embarks on her supernatural transformation". Godfrey said about Jacob's book, "The story will break from [Bella] and follow Jacob throughout the course of the movie as he struggles with his own dilemma. There is a sense that as Bella and the Cullens deal with her pregnancy, the world is still turning outside with Jacob."

To be honest, it does get a lot more interesting post-Vampire Bella. Thats why I think Stephanie should write another. She can do so much more with Bella now imo.

But I'm not too fussed if she doesn't, she tied off Breaking Dawn nicely enough.

Omg I just got back from the movie :love: :

It was just incredible. I was gearing myself up for a disappointment after I read some of the initial reviews, but I thought the film was awesome and really did the book justice.

The first thing I noticed was that nearly everything was as I pictured it; the wedding, Isle Esme all looked the same as how I’d visualised them when reading the book - they got it perfect.

The pacing also felt speedy despite the fact they transferred nearly everything from the book into the movie. The compression of the storyline wasn’t really a detriment to the movie but more of a benefit, I didn’t get bored at all, my eyes were glued to the film throughout. It was perfect. Each section (the wedding, the pregnancy, the birth) was the perfect length.

The only things that I didn’t like were that some of the effects for Isle Esme looked a ‘lil bit cheap and they actually managed to make Rob look ugly in the Wedding scene.

Other than that it was perfect. Best one of the series (yet).

Its actually brilliant, though a lot of things are different from the book/missed out :/

I nearly died when they killed off carlisle, then I recovered and then it was jasper :laugh:

Glad it was just a vision though, i was thinking surely they cant make it THAT different from the book :joker:

Agreed! I thought it was definitely the best out of all of them.

I just saw part Two today and I really enjoyed it for the most part! Definitely the strongest of the series IMO.

But

When that entire ****ing fight seen was revealed to be a vision of Alice's I WAS SO MAD honestly that is such lazy writing. I mean I understand why they did it, BD's real ending is as action packed as a wet fart, but still. It just angered me immensly. :bored:
