View Full Version : Sing-off to stay till the Final now?

So, with seven acts left and two shows left before the Final, four acts need to leave in order to reach the usual three acts for the Final. That means two Double Eliminations the next two weeks are VITAL, if not then we're having more than three acts in the Final.
You see though, if there is two Double Eliminations - I really cannot see them risking losing two acts to a public vote, so I think it's likely that there'll be a sing-off. On the other hand, once we get down to this small number of contestants, the reason they drop the Bottom Two is so that the Final/Semi-Final doesn't become predictable.
With seven acts left, a Double next week would mean four acts would be automatically saved - and you would assume those would be the top four, so it makes it too predictable. And then if there was a Double the following week when there's five acts left, two acts would be automatically saved - and you would again assume those would be the final two on the Final night - rendering the results even more predictable.
So I can't call what's going to happen anymore? :conf:

Hopefully the sing-off stays just to be safe.
I reckon it makes the show more entertaining aswell.

Aslong as it confuses One Erection fans enough for them to forget to vote I'm okay,
Next week - Single
Week After - Double
Final - 4 Acts

Isn't it the 18/19th when it finishes?

No, otherwise they can't try for the Christmas #1 on the 19th

Keeping the singoff until the final though, is basically letting the judges pick who the final 4 are :/

I think it will stay one more week!
Cause they had it on X Factor Australia so I assume they where copying this years schedule!!

Theyre not gonna risk Waggy in the final. Theyll keep the sing off until he's gone!

Big Brother made the mistake (imo) of keeping too many around and then a big fat finale where one after another goes.
I don't like this for a few reasons:
- you narrow it down to the last few characters SO THAT the audience then gets more time to know them more closely and intimately.
- You narrow it down to just three for the final week so there is more time for them to 2 songs (i just think they should).
- Now we get to focus more closely on each on for better judgment.
Anyways, this has been going on too long as it is. Last night ought to have been a double-eviction no doubt about it. We should not have this many people still clogging this up.
It is still a big crowd variety show and it's been forcing judges to keep pretending like certain acts are great and in winning potential.
Really, I'm not sure I'm going to bother following this too closely until we get rid of the riff-raff.
Cher, Katie and Boy Band were all good and well but lets get serious now and focus on the real performers.

And you don't even mention Wagner?
Cher, Katie and One direction ARE the performers. Theyre not the best singers but they certainly do perform. The singers are dull performers.

I agree. Matt and Rebecca can sing but my word they lack anything interesting about them. They won't have a very long career, nobody will care enough about them.

First someone announced on here that the sing off was finished now, they never have a sing off in the semi finals with 4 acts, that would be rediculous, but Konnie asked on Xtra Factor who Brian thought would be the bottom 2 neaxt week so it seems that there is a bottom 2 next week again, or that could be the double elimination week with 2 going then.
X Factor always ends the wek before Christmas week usually, for the recording to get in the Charts for Christmas,so it s anyones guess,
With so many changes to its format this year, made as the show goes along week by week, the public haven't a clue where they are with X Factor.
I think Simon should this week take the time to bring back in the viewers and tell them the plans for the last weeks in detail instead of letting them be treated as idiots and having to guess all the time.
Also next year for goodness sake get rid of Konnie from the Xtra Factor, she is useless on the show and tells the viewers nothing they need to or want to know.

They should have gotten rid of all the doubles at the start imo

Plus she gets right on my tits. Not an easy thing to do as I'm a flat-chested man, although I do have 2.5 nipples.

We will either see 2 double eliminations. Or the producers will copy BB and do a triple elimination which wouldn't surprise me tbh.
Or there will be 4/5 in the final.

Absolutely, they have made a right mess of it all this year and are left with 2 weeks now to get the acts down to 3 unless they are having 4 in the final..
There is going to have to be 2 double eliminations in 2 weeks to achieve that but they should be done only by the public I think, not the judges in sing offs.
Especially if acts are now going to sing songs they have sung in a competitive week as a sing off song. Waste of time.
All this to ensure Cheryls acts remain in the competition for as long as possible, that's blatantly obvious she is sitting there still with 3, ignoring the last votes straight out 2 acts, of the 14 places in the sing offs Cheryl has had 6 of those sing off places done by her acts and yet still has 3 left in the competition.
You couldn't make it up.What a farce.

Ahh but if they had done that the girls might have been in trouble. Cant be having that ;)
Interesting statistic I just read on another forum...6 weeks out of 7 it has been one/more of Cheryls girls in the bottom. And only once has this resulted in one going, and this was only when the girls were against each other
The only week her girls escaped bottom two was week 2 :/

That is an interesting statistic. I wish Louis would point that out at some point to wipe the smugness off her face!
