Dermot O'Leary announces the results of another public vote, and with the judges now having no say over who stays and who goes, there will be no sing-off, as the decision rests entirely with the public. Plus, performances by two of the biggest names in pop and a musical number from the X Factor finalists
Bout time too. Though I think this will be changed by the results show...

I doubt it, we're heading towards the final and there's far too many acts so there's gonna be a double elimination in one or both of the weeks so I'll be surprised if the producers leave it totally up to the public in deciding two to go. Give that there's three guest performers next week as well I'd probably say it's just a stock description rather then an actual one.

I see no reason why they wouldnt leave a double totally up to the viewers...except to fix who is in the final ;)
Which wouldnt surprise me tbh this year

Let's hope Simon changes his mind about this :nono:

LOL Perfect Wagner will defo stay now
WAGNER FTW
Its always at this stage the judges lose their power to vote although I reckon this will be the last week of having a bottom 2 and 2 will go.
I have a feeling the last double elimination will come in the final weekend with 4 on the Saturday and 3 on Sunday

Hm, this might be out of date - it does say two performances - and there's going to be three performances on Sunday.
I really can't see them risking two essential Double Eliminations [if we're having a three-act Final] entirely on a public vote either, too risky.

I just can't see them risking it, They won't risk Cher, Matt, Rebecca or One Direction so I can't see them surrendering control completely. If there's another double it'll be the bottom act eliminated instantly and the next two in a sing off.
I reckon we'll have four in the final this year, They'll all sing two songs, one will get voted off and they'll have another round of songs leading to someone else going at the end of Saturday night leaving two in the final.

I like it better this way, pleased it's actually happening now.
If Cher or Katie come in last before the results are announced, Simon will find a way of changing this, that's why they changed it from being a double this time.

It was never a double in the first place. Dermot specifically said at the end of Saturday's show [when lines had only just opened] 'tomorrow night another act will leave the competition'. Whenever there's been a double in the past, it has been announced at the end of Saturday's show - and Dermot has specifically said it would be a double.

This sundays show is only an hour long though, and they have three guest performers. They wouldn't be able to fit a double elimination in if it included a sing off aswell.

I reckon they would, they'd just scrap the group performance like they did boyband week, and then carry on as normal.
The Double Eliminations at the start of the series didn't need any extra time.

In a way this might me best for Katie, if she landed in the bottom 2 again I think she would go but this might save her if shes second from last.

You are right but I have a feeling you and I are not going ti like the winning act,I just hope Matt and Rebecca hold firm and stay in with the chance too.
It's okay good old Simon will think of a great plan so Katie can stay :)

I agree, can't see her coming last, but second from bottom is a real possibility.

This.
But if true,
Katie is bollocked.

I dunno...if she manages to scrape second from bottom she will be fine. If she hits the bottom 2 again with the judges vote I think they would have a hard time justifying saving her, this might actually be better for her :/

So the hour long show is gonna be...
Group performance, guest performance 1, guest performance 2, then the results?

I think it should always be down to the public. They need to get rid of judges votes all together
