Predict the winner

I think Rebecca is going to win this by virtue of letting the other contestants destroy themselves in the public sphere. Katie, Cher and Wagner are all being victimised by the media; Mary is constantly written off as a one trick pony, certain members of One Direction and Matt keep slagging off Wagner which I believe will damage their own popularity, not Wagner's. Rebecca's been praised by the judges every single week; so by virtue of the fact she's kept her head down and just let her talent speak for itself, I think she's got this in the bag. I can't wait for the voting figures to come out, I think she'll have a very similar voting pattern to Alexandra Burke - quietly progressed through the early weeks and gradually gained popularity all the way to the final. I hope I'm right! Who do you all think is going to win, and why them over the other contestants?

It is better for people like Cher, Katie, and Matt not to win this show, but I think Matt will anyway. He'll end up releasing different music than what he wants to if he does though.

I don't really find Matt very interesting, to be honest, I think meek and quiet are endearing qualities when it comes to Rebecca; but pop music is severely lacking a charismatic male singer; someone to fill the hole that Robbie Williams has left in the market, I'm genuinely surprised that the X Factor hasn't found someone that could fill that position because it just seems like a gapingly obvious market to slot someone into. I'd be happy for him if he won, I actually like all of the remaining acts, but I don't think he has what it takes to win.

Well exactly; just because it's never been done before doesn't mean it can't happen. Cher's definitely been one of the more versatile contestants and will surely be safe next week; this is where voting counts so I don't see why she couldn't go on to win it. It's not about how many fans you have on the X Factor, it's about how many times they're willing to vote.

Matt/Rebecca will be the final two - I've said from Live Show 1 that Matt'd win so I may as well stick with that, though Rebecca is edging closer, IMO.

I'd hate Rebecca to win though, to be honest. She's nice, got a fantastic voice - but unfortunately she's terribly, terribly dull. I really don't watch another Leona/Alexandra type winner [I know they have different tones, but hopefully some of you will see the comparison I'm trying to make]. I want a 'different' sort of winner - ideally that'd be Cher, One Direction or Katie. I'd be fairly happy with Matt winning though.

I've told you before - Cher stands no chance, IMO. To win this show you need wide appeal, and she, unfortunately, does not have that, especially when she raps. Only Matt, Rebecca and Mary have the wide appeal, if you ask me.

I get what you mean; the past four series of the X Factor have thrown up two female singers that have great voices and two forgettable male singers that won the 'cute' vote. For the good of the show, the winner really needs to be someone like Mary or an act like One Direction just to throw a bit of variety in there, even Cher, Katie or Wagner would be more interesting winners - but in terms of sheer talent, Matt and Rebecca are head and shoulders above the rest.

Matt is found out on some songs, however hes probably going to do that ''The FIRST TIME BLAH BLAH BLAH'' song again and win it for him, which is highly unfair as its just the easy option, shouldnt of been allowed to do it 2 weeks ago, just like Cher shouldn't of been allowed to sing what she did in the sing off yesterday

Mary - Really really isnt that special

Katie - Will return to being bottom 2 fodder this week

Cher - Been in the bottom 2, I don't see a miracolous turn around, she wasnt even that bad on saturday yet didn't get the votes

Wagner - Who knows. Maybe Cheryl will go off at him again and get him even more votes

Yeah, I think lots more people like her though when she just sings, but if she gets the chance now to do two songs, then if she does one rap and one singing, then that will please everyone. Am not sure about Mary, it sounds like she sings the same song every week D:

The young person vote is being split between Cher and One Direction; Matt and One Direction are sharing the 'vote with your vagina' :laugh2: (see Vicky's signature) vote, Wagner is getting the anti-X Factor vote, Mary's getting the older generation vote and votes from those who enjoy the style of music she enjoys, Katie's fans I've no idea how to classify but I think she's the next to go; leaving Rebecca with a seemingly exclusive fan base (at least to my mind) that isn't losing voters to another act.

I agree Rebecca deserves to win,and I think she will... Matt however has a fairly good chance too, plus he has the hottie factor on his side. I'm not sure about this, but I reckon more women vote than men? I would imagine Matt will receive a lot of the female votes..
