i always forget the glorious dutch :(
I prefer the Jetpunk version because it colours them in green when you get them instead of putting the name of the country on the map so you can see areas you've missed, makes it easier to remember what you missed.

I hate those little pointless countries scattered around parts of the world near India and Australia.
They need to make themselves stand out more and make a name for themselves, like srsly put themselves on the map.
I never heard of Bangladesh until recently, bitch needs to enter Eurovision.

You mean like Kiribati and Vanuatu? It's all relative to location, you go to Australia they know those countries, but would struggle to name a lot of European ones.
Bangladesh cannot enter Eurovision

England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are 'nation states', that all form one country. Because there's no separate government for England, or important ones for the other 3 (scottish parliament isn't really that important, despite Salmond's insistence), it's all one country, as recognised by the UN.

I've done it before and got about 5.
I don't understand the difference between a country a continent and etc so it is pointless.

In the sense that it can't change anything regarding defence, parliamentary reform, gain independence, the health service...I'm saying it's not a country, not belittling its importance.

Excellent:thumbs:
Sccotland IS a country as is Wales and Ireland.
And the Scottish parliament DOES have control over Scotland's Health Service.. plus our education, justice system and law.
Not nit picking or trying for an argument, just saying:)

I think the UK is the only example in the world of having separate national teams for certain sporting events?
I think the UK is the only example in the world of having separate national teams for certain sporting events?
I can't even think of another group of countries that are united?
The Polynesia Cup was a football tournament for Polynesian nations within the Oceania Football Confederation
Tonga
Tahiti
Samoa
American Samoa
Cook Islands
I think that's the closest it gets
Shaun
24-11-2010, 02:17 AM
hmm...Tonga + Samoa are countries. the others are territories of the UK/US/France/Portugal/Spain/Netherlands etc.
Yay.. 83 this time. Getting better :D

It pees me off that Wales, Scotland and N.I all get their own Parliaments when England doesn't. Doesn't make a lick of sense. :bored:

Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland all have a very predominant sense of national identity though, there's a lot of resentment towards England (for the most part just banter brought up in times of sporting events etc., I don't know many people who actually have a problem with the English) so national assemblies and a devolved parliament were introduced in those respective places. It does have to be said, though, that there are national assemblies in England too - I know there's one for London off the top of my head - on the same level as the one in Wales and N.I.

I don't think England actually has any form of its own devolved Parliament though. I think we should have one because then Westminster could just be kept for nationwide policies and each of the four countries could sort out their own policies separately to everyone else? Then we'd kinda be like states in the American sense of the word (not totally though, not saying we are a lot like America), and I do think England has a strong sense of identity too lol :)
I just think it would be more fair thats all. But you know, it don't bother me very much, just a minor niggle I have.
