to be fair to Cher, she has done ballads, like Stay and Imagine where its just been her and the microphone.

I like it when Cher is drowned out actually but you are right,it is really bad with One Direction,( far worse than with Cher), once Liam isn't singing anyway it is.

And she's proven that she can sing with "Stay" and "Imagine" so we all know she's got the voice, she just did different sorts of songs this week, she went more back to the beginning of the show with like "Just Be Good To Me" apart from she didn't do any rapping in these. She got the votes then, so she'll get the votes now.

Chers wasnt as bad as katies sex on fire..you could hear katie a bit in the verses...but the chorus you couldnt hear at all.

Very true. TBH, I think Katie has a very limited range especially with the huskiness of her voice, often she simply can't reach deeper/lower notes and all you hear is her 'breathing'. It's really annoying.

Didnt notice it with Cher, infact i think one of the judges comments was that she didnt get drowned out by the backing :S

But anyway I dont think ive ever heard one direction not have this happen to them.
