or so it says in his website:

Steve was disappointed that the record label would not entertain original songs so rather than do another album of covers Steve requested to leave. He was offered a £12,500 to go away quietly and not make the fall out public but Steve said no to Simon Cowell. Steve has since been subject to much negative PR after trying to speak about his experience.

£12,500?? Simon spends more than that on his breakfast I'm pretty sure.. goes to show how much he really respects the X-factor competitors!

Having read that piece from his site, it doesnt sound like bitterness, just a bloke trying to make it in the business but not the Simon Cowell way....nothing wrong with that. Cowell has become too powerful in lining his own pockets at the artists & publics expense.

It's not just his site though. Every year he'll be ranting in the media about the X Factor and Simon Cowell, saying they're killing music and he was very vocal in backing RATM for no.1, he wasnt complaining when his debut single and album went to the top of the charts though was he. He performs in pubs to a couple of dozen people, he's just bitter and jealous if you ask me
