I suggest for next year they raise the age of boys and girls category to 30 and get rid of the over 25s or 28s or whatever.

40 and 50 year old singers should never be in the X Factor. Older singers have too many bad habits, too set in their own comfort zone, reluctant to try something new. All the older singers in the X Factor over the years have been karaoke singers. Young contestants are still experimenting and learning.

Create an new show for older contestants and viewers that want to see them and call it 'Last Chance Factor' or something.

The new categories would be ...

1. Boys
2. Girls
3. Boybands
4. Girlbands

In complete contrast, I suggest they get rid of all the silly wee girls who think they are something special when in fact, all they are, are jumped up little chavs who end up in the bottom two.

but hey, each to their own and all that !

No I think it's fine left the way it is, apart from the ages.

It needs to go back to being 25+.

mary is easily a better vocalist than katie and cher, also storm got shat on and wagner proved he could do 1 song:joker: and john adeleye gets zoom.

and if you look at the acts in the categories the groups are all terrible, the girls only have rebecca and treyc that are/were talented in treycs case, and the boys are obviously the best category this year imo.

It won't come as any surprise that I also agree with you but I do feel over 25 is a better category for the future, I mean where did over 28 come from, its not even a sensible figure to have a starting point at.
Either over 25 or over 30 would be good but I personally prefer over 25.

well the thing is they struggled to get an over 25 winner so what makes them think that an over 28 category would work better? so i do agree with you that i prefer the over 25 category.

Who from the 'overs' has ever made a name post X Factor?

The older category is not working, guys ...

Replace Cheryl & Dannii with Nicole Scherzinger and integrate the overs into the male/female categories

Brenda from series 2 is massive in the West End and Olly has had 2 top 3 singles so far

Why did they change it from over 25's to 28's? Seems a bit pointless

because of olly not winning last year for them,so i think if they ever wanted somebody that was 25 to win next year, the younger generation will vote for them.

I say get rid of the bands and just start a different programme on Five or Channel4; with Louis and other people to look for a band

no the over 28s was the 2nd strongest category this year.:nono:

It would of been stronger if they hadn't tinkered with it, as Treyc and that bloke Marlon would of been better than the four they chose.

But then again, Wagner may win...

Girlbands are notoriously poor based on votes, so that would be a wasted vote....i cant remember any bands that have actually won....yet the very first Xfactor winner was an Over....Steve Brookstein.
Ok so he hasnt done brill since, but thats more to do with him not being a Scowell puppet....and how many actual winners have gone on and been consistantly successful? Leon Jackson disappeared, Shane Ward appears now and then, and Joe McElderry seems to be the same. Only Leona Lewis and Alex Burke have consistantly had chart success.

As others have pointed out, its perhaps better to come in the top 3 or 5 and be able to do your thing without the attention and Scowell rules.... JLS, Riordan(?) and Diane Vickers.
