according to the Sun newspaper;

The Sun is reporting that Cheryl Cole has landed the much sought-after role as a judge on the US version of 'The X Factor'.

The paper claims that producers flew over to watch her at the weekend and have now agreed a massive £3 million deal to sign her up.

An insider said: "She has really charmed the American execs. They love her good looks and the way she wears her heart on her sleeve. And of course her chemistry with Simon played a huge part in it. They are great together."

she'd be crazy to turn that gig down IMO. If Cowell can do both then so can she. Would make her a huge name in America where she gets mentioned in many gossip mediums and hot women polls but is not really known generally.

Congrats Cheryl! If true, of course.

I stopped after The Sun Newspaper

well it's been a persistent rumour for months and many sources have been claiming it. Plus Simon is soon due to make announcements about the show.

I wouldve thought he'd go for a safer choice with a US female star judge but if he likes Cheryl enough then he can do what he likes.

I'll believe it when it's announced. Not by the Sun newspaper.

So was Pammy Anderson and Whitney Housten going in to BB, like cub says I'll believe it when officially announced.

Simon has apparently put a contract out that noone (other than him) can do both versions. Its one or the other

Aha....so thats why she was acting uncharacteristically nice towards everyone at the weekend..especially Wagner.
She normally doesnt bother commenting about him at all.
And even when the phone-ins had a pop at her, she just smiled, said she couldn't hear, and then let Simon interject.
Slimey piece of work.

Yeah true she has all the help in the world. I'm just thinking she could be one of these people/couples/bands who you know ... they have all that help, and the UK loved them to bits, but for whatever reason the yanks just didn't give a ****.

She hasn't actually denied it, shes just said that she'll have to give it a long think (if offered) because of her workload. I doubt she'll join the British panel but it would be nice to have her involved in some capacity, she could be to Louis what Sinitta is to Simon at judges houses

I thought US producers were being persistant about getting an American woman for the job like Paula Abdul. Cheryl's gonna be like Vernon Kay's presenting job, gonna get panned for the accent. And Cheryl trying to talk the Queen's english to be understood would be funny though.

If it's true though they're gonna have to get a megastar as another judge on the panel because with Simon, Cheryl and another nobody the show's gonna fall flat on its face.

If both Simon and Cheryl are missing next year and as I predict Dannii quits to go back to Australia then it's gonna be little old Louis left behind. lol

30-11-2010, 07:24 PM
I won't believe anything until it comes out of Simon's mouth. I'd be surprised if she did it as apparently one of the stipulations with Brian Friedman's US contract is that he can't work on the UK one simultaneously meaning if it's a similar contract Cheryl would have to give up the UK version. Then again I'd imagine Simon would get her a deal without that stipulation like I'm guessing he'll have.

She'd be foolish to abandon the UK X Factor completely as it'll pretty much guarantee her constant success as the UK is a lot easily conquered then the US so I'm guessing she'll do both if this is true.

Well I think Paula abdul and another famous US star would make up the four judge panel. That would make Cheryl the only relative unknown so could work.

And Dannii divides her time between UK and Australia anyways as her husband/BF is English but she also does Australia's got talent. So the UK gig suits her just fine. I doubt she'd quit.

Paula Abdul is part of America's version of "Got to Dance" and therefore would be unable to judge both. I think she would be great but it's looking more likely that Nicole or Mariah will make up the second female judge role.

X Factor USA is airing on ITV2- Simon can pull the right strings to have it airing simultaneously with our X Factor and there is nothing stopping Cheryl doing a guest performance on ours, that would continue her success without physically being on our show

If i want to make a Cheryl hate thread why shouldn't i if you don't like it just don't read my thread/ comments SIMPLE!!! Or better still just put me on ignore , either that or just stop your whinging

She's already a judge on America's Got Talent, panellist on The Talk (America's answer to Loose Women) so I don't think there's a chance she'd be able to do American X Factor too.

It was 7 years ago and they assess the whole case rather than "guilty" or "not guilty". I doubt that will have a problem, ABH is a relatively minor offence.

In the US they take these things more seriously than here. For example, if you lie on your cv and get found out you are a felon. US immigration is a lot tougher even for GB citizens. In these economic climes they will seriously have to justify why she should get a visa etc......so its not all in the bag or they are slowly leaking stories for other reasons.

well she can sing, actually. Maybe not as good as some but better than most people. She did win a TV singing show after all.

Her voice is good enough for a popstar and clearly good enough to sell millions of records.
