Cheryls Coles proposed new career as an 'X Factor' judge on the US version of the show may be under threat before it's even begun thanks to her 2003 conviction for actual bodily harm. She was found guilty of attacking a toilet attendant in a Guildford nightclub, although she was cleared of racially aggravated assault.
Cole is believed to have a landed a $3m (£1.92m) contract to be a judge on the US version of 'X Factor' were she will join show supremo Simon Cowell. However, the Daily Mail reports that Cole's visa application may be rejected because of the conviction which she has to declare to US immigration officials.
Immigration lawyer Susan McFadden told the tabloid: "If the conviction is for something that triggers ineligibility the person would have to appeal for a waive."
The visa application may be the least of her worries though. According to PR bigwig Mark Borkowski, Cole's Geordie accent may prove to be a bigger obstacle in her attempt to crack the US.
He told the Guardian: "The bigger risk is whether middle America is going to understand Cheryl Cole. I hope she is taking elocution lessons so that people in Vermont can understand what the hell she is saying."
Surely not? Or, as they say in Newcastle: Here's horpin' tha Cheryl's troubled porst won't kill hor American dream.

I bet she didn't think that attack would cost her £3million quid!
ABH is pretty minor and when they look at visas they look at the entire case, not just the verdict
Because it was 7 years ago and was relatively minor I dont think it will make a big impact and she can vanish to America for a bit. She needs to for damage limitation if anything. If she doesn't get it I think she should stand down from X Factor and rejoin Girls Aloud, again for damage limitation

Please, I sincerely hope it doesn't affect her going, really hope if its an issue that strings can be pulled to take her to the USA and also keep her there too.

It is not impossible she could be signed up as Simon's replacement as that is a sort of traditional 'character' of the opinionated Brit,
and
Piers Morgan 'would've been' the heir-apparent but it turns out he is replacing USA Interview (presenter) legend Larry King.
But here is what you should know:
Cheryl Cole is UNKNOWN IN THE USA
The vast majority of viewers will have NO IDEA WHO SHE IS.
They don't know if she is a singer or actress or who she is?
They never saw her before.
Now that is fine and maybe she would be a good pick for replacement and do very well but just so its clear - she is a total unknown to that audience.

They've refused entry to bigger and better "celebs" than her because of past convictions - it'll be poetic justice if she loses out on her so called US career because of a past conviction. Unfortunately, that would mean we're stuck with the ubiquitous, talentless bint, when America deserves her so much more:laugh:

She has zero celebrity in the USA. I would be surprised if ANYONE in the US Immigration/Visa departments had ever heard her name or recognized her face.

anyway i don't fancy her because i'm a total gay lord, but i'm not disagreeing or nothing, yeah it's total wrong to slap anyone , but it don't mean your racist, especially if your married to a big black man with big meaty thighs (yeah i know he turned out to be a knob and put mobile phones up his bum on vibrate and got his mates to call him - but whatever that's not the point) but anyway , so whatever you think of her , she just is not racialist no way . she seems alright anyway.
