Well I read that we'll have to wait till 2012 but in terms of where it will be set, theres rumours that the game will be set in Los Angeles
(which was of course Los Santos in San Andreas) so they might be researching locations.. so if this was true then perhaps they could carry on from what happened in San Andreas.

I would like to see it set in the midwest

the map would be huge, the biggest of any gta game by far

long highway system connecting 100+ small towns and also gas stations, rest stops with cafes, abandoned factories of some kind, maybe even a region where inbred rednecks live lol

each town u visit u can do various missions

also could have lead character a woman for first time (make her hot too :hugesmile:)

not sure what main storyline should be but doesnt matter to me really as long as there is lots to do, the map is huge and lots of cars, weapons etc

Good idea, Catalina could have been a great main character but shame she was killed off in GTA 3, then she came back from the dead in Los Santos:joker:.

What happened with the diamonds found by the tramp at the end of TBOGT. They were worth £2m, he could have moved to San Andreas and set up a business or something.

Anyroad up, I can't wait. I've completed IV 100%, TLAD 100% and got to about 80% of TBOGT before Red Dead came out and distracted me. I'll go back and finish it off at some point.

Which sparks rumours of a GTA San Andreas return because LA ala Los Santos.

It will have RDR Features [UNCONFIRMED But Likely]
It's a shame if R* returned to GTA IV's ways when RDR was such a win.


It's due to be released in 2012 [BASICALLY CONFIRMED]
GTA V isn't that far ahead in terms of making, so there's no way it'll be released anytime in 2011.

It was more of a fun expansion pack rather than added anything to the story tbh. More about parachutes and explosions, but it did tie up a few loose ends.

Basically, there was a cut-scene at the end, this tramp was going through a bin and found diamonds that were thrown away by accident in the main IV game. Then he ran off happily, it just seemed that his character could be developed more.

I'm probably way off here though :D

Ooh, didn't know LA was confirmed. Was hoping for Vice City again tbh.

I think the weapon wheel on Red Dead was good, would like to see that in V. Also the fact that the whole map was open from the start and abilities were unlocked, not the other way 'round.

And yeah, I heard that it was to be released in 2012. I just want a trailer or something though!

Maybe they could revisit what happened in Los Santos once the gang wars had settled down after the murder of Big Smoke at the end by Carl Johnson of course and what happened to the main characters after?.

LA has NOT been confirmed. The only thing Rockstar has said to date is that the game is actually being made.

And I highly doubt it will be called GTA V, or have anything to do with previous story arcs.

Hopefully Rockstar learned a lesson from the late backlash that eventually came back to haunt GTA IV and make the game more open ended, choice filled and fun again, as opposed to forcing players to experience THEIR vision, THEIR way.

It wasn't even that good of a game.

They've never went back and revisted old games and stuff.
As much as I would love for them to do that, Vice City comes first.

San Andreas had it's time, Vice City was one of the best games ever created but would easily be amazing if they went and updated it abit.

Everyone goes on about San Andreas as if it was Jesus or something, I really don't get the appeal.

And I hope if they do go back to Los Santos [And I'm hoping their LA Area is just called LA and not LS] they forget all about San Andreas.

I expect it'll be set in 2008/2009/2010 or perhaps 2011.

Because GTA IV was set in 2007.
