View Full Version : Cher Lloyd CHER: Hmmmmmm...

Um, What was that about?

Cher you need to stop this behaviour or your going to bring more pathetic haters up your street babe.

Seriously, why did she just go 'Hmmmmm' when Danni was trying to help her?

Danni is very rarely rude to anyone, I always agree with her and I agreed with her 110% that Cher would of been better doing a ballad for her second song as she's probably put herself in the firing line, AND Her voice didn't sound that good last night either on her first song.

And Cher's come back was pretty poor,

'Yeah well Ballads have been done before and I'm not gonna change for anyone.'

Cher, No one is ******ing asking you to become a man or something.

You've done about 2 ballads since you came to the Live Shows, and rapped about 10 times.. How on earth have Ballads been done and over used?

Gosh.

As much as I love her to pieces, I disagreed completely with her last night.

'Hmmmm' I mean wut?

Great thread and great post Patrick.

Someone needs tell Cher (as was pointed out in another thread), rapping is nothing new ..... she's hardly reinvented music.

It wasn't one of my favourites of hers but I still liked it. She made up for it with Love The Way You Lie :worship:

I think she was right what she said to Dannii. Everyweek shes telling her ' I want you to do a nice ballad its just like '**** she wants to be a rapper not a ballad singer'

If she did a ballad then she'd just be playing it safe because thats what the haters prefer to do over her rapping. I was impressed with her last night for standing up for herself.

Because it's obvious.

She didnt say "I've done ballads before" she said "ballads have been done before" tell me where she makes ay reference to her own singing of them there?

It wasn't obvious at all.

You tell me where she said "Ballads have been done before by others in the show....".

She didn't, therefore it is entirely open to personal interpretation.

Apart from which, her comment about bringing new music in...... since when was rapping new? Seriously, since when?

See that's pathetic.

Every other contestant has their haters but no one goes into the uncalled for depth and vile name calling that you all do for her for no reason.

The way people pick little things about her to make a big deal out of just like you all do with Cheryl.

That's what's Pathetic.

Like Patrick pointed out, she's only really done a couple of ballads so it would be illogical for her to make out as if she'd done them loads before, she said "ballads have been done" in a generic way not in a personal one.

And can you remember where there's been an X Factor act like her?

She comes across as an arrogant bitch, so I have a perfectly valid reason for hating the little gremlin/pregnant drag queen hybrid. Cheryl always says she's not everyone's cup of tea, and that applies to me. I'd rather drink a cold bag of sick than her cup of tea. :joker: (Bea.)

It's when she demonstrates behaviour like this that makes me think she'd be better of not winning the show for her own good. I think I've said it before in a different thread, but winning would just inflate her ego even more. She already thinks she's better than everyone else, they can dress it up as much as they want by saying "It's part of her act" but she must believe it to some degree to perform with the arrogance that she does.

Yeah, she's talented (at singing, she's god awful at rapping) but she's nothing overly special.

There was nothing to indicate that her comment was made generically. I took it that she was sticking to her guns and not doing any more ballads, I'm not alone in that. It's completely open to interpretation.

There is no misinterpretation however to her thinking her style of music (rapping), is new - if that's what she has to offer (and it's most of what we've seen so far), someone needs to give her a reality check and let her know all she is doing is copying a style of music that is already in existence.

Thankfully, there have been a very limited amount of contestants (apart from Katie, from this year) - who have had so little talent, such bad attitude and as arrogant as Cher.

Well, there's no way of proving it one way or another I suppose, so there's no point arguing about it.

I admit that what she's doing isn't new to English music as she said it was although I do think it's new to the X Factor. As far as I can remember there hasn't been any act on there before who can combine rapping and singing, other than maybe Miss Frank.

I'd say there's been a few with an (alleged) bad attitude; Nicolo, Aidan, Matt, even One Direction have come across as quite arrogant to me. Katie wasnt arrogant at all.

Nah, no point arguing, I agree.

Again though, I don't think Cher when she mentions 'her type of music' is referring specifically to the XFactor. I do truly think she thinks she has invented something utterly unheard of.

Lots of the contestants appear to be far more humble than Cher - but given that Cowell and Cole have been hammering home the 'act like a Diva' message to everyone, it's hardly surprising some of them may get a bit uppity.

My dislike of Cher is that she came across that way very early on, and has steadily and progressively, become more arrogant with each passing week. Mind you, I'm not likely to say anything else in all fairness! But I suspect you'll have guessed that ! Lol

I think the problems for Cher after last night are the following:

1) Dannii is a judge, whether she liked what she said or not, it is her view and she has to respect that and behave accordingly on the show.

2) Cher's most popular performance to date is Stay. She was happy to sing it when she was in the bottom two and not rap - hmm - hypocrisy. Last night was about doing 2 contrasting performances not two of the same.

3) Her age is not an excuse - we have had other contestants who have been younger or a similar age who haven't shown such disrespect/lack of manners. She has developed the wrong attitude.

4) Her delusion that she is going to change English music - rap has been around since the early 80's and the UK since early 90's. There are better and more credible hip hop artists out there in the UK - the idea that she thinks she is somehow special does not reflect well for her.

I hope she apologised to Dannii and was taken to task about her rudeness and learns to think before she speaks.

Patrick likes her as a performer but can see the damage this attitude does to her chances........

I totally agree with all you say, with the exception of the date stamp given to the birth and even general popularity of the genre of rap & hip hop. I would have dated it to the mid 70's but if the spoken word mixed with rhythmic music was the birth of rap then the nod looks like it's being given to The Last Poets, more than 20 years before Cher Lloyd was born. http://www.digitaldreamdoor.com/pages/best_rap-timeline1.html
Sorry to be pedantic dear TT, but I am so immersed in black music that I am not only offended by her voice and interpretation, but I need the facts to be correct too LOL xxx
