It seems Dermot O'Leary won't be heading over to host the US X Factor after all.
Speculation had been mounting for months about who would present the American series when it starts next year, with Dermot apparently favourite.
Now, after it was announced Cheryl Cole will be a judge on the show, Simon Cowell doesn't want to overload the US series with too many Brits.
A source said: "Simon is a big fan of Dermot's, but there could only be a maximum of one other Brit aside from him on the show."
Cowell is thought to be lining up High School Musical stars Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens to front the show, with other big-name US starts being brought in, Nicole Scherzinger among others, to join the judging panel.
