It's a show. Anyone of the ten finalists could go onto be successful. Look at JLS. Does it really matter these days? Stop bickering about who deserved it and enjoy your bloody Sunday night. It's Christmas!!!!!!!

Who is being bitter? it's open to discussion whether he was deserving or not.. it is a forum after all, do you want us all to create threads saying " OMGZZ!! MATT!! " and " BEST WINNER EVER!!! " " BETTER THEN ELVIS LOLZZZ!! "

No i thought not

I'm just pissed about the song choice its not bitterness

Wouldn't of give a toss if he was singing something else

Imagine if your favourite song was taken by someone, changed the title, watered it down, and done a bad job of it in your opinion, how would you feel? :\

No, I want people not to be bitter funnily enough. I never said anything about discussing it

you have a very good point Kerry.

It's over, Matt won but ultimately, any of the finalists may have varying degrees of success.

Typical of this forum, you start a thread trying to keep things light and it starts backbiting

You've just accused people of being bitter when all they are doing is discussing.... are you surprised?

If he maintained his earlier quality he'd have been a decent winner but he didn't. He's ultimately limited and vocally Rebecca's been all over him since around week 5. He won out of sympathy rather then talent since he was all over the place the last two weekends.

He's been ill for two weeks. Not that it was mentioned like all the others wail on about

Won out of Sympathy? He topped the voting every week bar one, he won because people like him more than all the others and he has a fantastic voice.

They went on about it repeatedly during the semi final though, they've been plowing the sympathy angle since his vocals were pretty subpar the last two weeks.

A technically good voice but nothing more and he didn't even have that in the last two weeks. At it's best though it lacked definition and depth though. Like i've said countless times he's relied on the high notes to get him through as his lower ranges are subpar and a bit dull. Firework was an appropiate song for him as it's pretty much the definition of his voice, a lot of build up a big bang and then a fade into nothing. His performances this week showed how much he needed the high notes as he's bene incapable of doing them as well as he has in previous weeks.

Well, thankfully the majority of the voting public strongly disagree with you Dezzy. And I for one will be buying his single:D

I heard it mentioned once. Either way, bar week one he was number one. No argument

For me, 'When Love Takes Over' & 'Yellow Brick Road' trumps the rest easily. 'You've Got The Love' would have been nice if it didn't sound like he was dying throughout it all. His other songs were pretty disappointing.

Yellow Brick Road was his best performance imo

for me Nights in white Satin was his best performance, I see what you mean by it sounds like he's dying:joker: but I actually love that sound, it's kind of haunting

Some of the posts on here are absolutely hilarious. He doesn't float my boat, but Matt was in a different league to the rest of them. Rebecca was almost there, but her vocals were very weak and shaky at times and her crippling self doubt make her performances awkward. Matt could have sung anything any of the other live show finalists sang ten times better at the height of his throat infection. He was visibly ill for the last two weeks - and particularly last week - and still shamed the rest of them and all of the guest performers. As I say, he doesn't float my boat, but I'm gobsmacked that anyone would try to argue with his superior natural talent. Entirely different league.

You didn't like 'the first time....' ?

Not really it's one of the biggest examples of his style of waiting around for the big moment to occur, it was very boring aside from the high notes. Same for most of his ballads really, they all merge into one for me.

Ahh ok. And I guess it comes down to personal taste. The song actually brought me to tears. I thought it was beautiful

I did like it at the time but when it came to ballads he dipped into the pool too much I think and that ruined his earlier ballads as they all became boring for me. I'd have liked to have seen more stuff in the way of When Love Takes Over really.

Thats why I got bored of Rebecca. She just stood still, waving her arm, and sang.

I disagree really, She operated well in most tempos. She could do the ballads (Wicked Game, Candle In The Wind ETC) She could do Mid Tempo (Teardrops) and she had stuff like Satisfaction, Sweet Dreams & Show Me Love as well. Her versatility is quite underrated I find. I reckon she could go down the soul route or Dance-ier route and still do well.

Matt needs to find himself a genre or a niche quickly or he'll become Joe 2.0, If it wasn't for his Winner's Single & his lack of will to experiment more, I wouldn't have minded him winning.

Rebecca was amazing but Matt has this thing she doesn't. Both made the best final 2, I loved the both of them since the beginning.
