Pop mogul Simon Cowell has promised to build a team around Matt Cardle who “entirely suit him, his music and style”.
Contrary to many people fearing Matt will lose his identity, the powerful man behind X Factor has said Matt will retain control throughout.
Ann-Marie Thomson, head of global media for Syco, Simon Cowell’s record and entertainment told The Halstead Gazette: “Matt will certainly have control over his music, every element is collabrative, the label will open the doors to the right and the best producers in the world for him.
“There are a lot of conversations to be had but I know Matt may be keen to have a band with him and that’s something which will certainly be discussed more.”
Miss Thomson spoke warmly of Matt before the final, and afterwards confirmed what a popular figure he is among all X Factor and Syco staff.
She said: “He gets on with all the youngsters on the show, he is one of the favourites with the production team.
“He is very straighforward and honest. He is a very much loved contestant amongst the production team and label.
“Simon is really fond of him and really respects him because he really stands up for his opinions and says what he thinks. He likes the fact Matt knows what he likes musically.”

I really do hope he does but tbh I can see Matt eventually moving to another recording label in the future, he will want to have his own input into his music understandably and he seems very opinionated plus won't like being told what to do which could be a negative factor for both sides. SyCo have messed up with some of the XF acts they have signed so for his sake I hope he knows what he is getting into.
Olly Murs is still signed up with SyCo but is on a joint record label with Epic, yet he doesn't mention Simon and says he is an Epic artist because they work really well with him and Simon doesn't have much input anyway..

I'de be quite happy to see what Matt can do on his own,so eventually it might be a good move to change record labels.

Yes because Alexandra Burke is with SyCo too and she will get much more attention than him from them:p.

I still don't think he'll last. He has nothing that sets him apart from all the other middle-of-the-road male singers out there.

He's gonna fall for the same reasons as Leon did, He's not gonna be much of a singles artist unless he conforms instead of doing what will probably be very script-esque music. Soft/pop rock in recent times doesn't do the business as well in the singles charts and the X Factor winner has to be able to shift singles. The odds are against him but fairplay if he manages to succeed. Given the previous track record of male winners though...
