Simon has (according to rumour) signed the five finalists of this year's X Factor. No point in winning really was it!

I suppose he needs to bolster his line up of acts as, over the years, he's bumped off Steve, Shayne (rumoured), Leon and (inevitably) Joe.

Well its easy to sign them on a contract thats not difficult to back out of if they flop. He's just edging his bets. The winner just gets more chances probably. The others are easier to get rid of.

An artist can be signed on a one single deal with the option to extend etc

No surprises there really. It allows Simon full control over those most likely to make him a lot of money, with them earning a half decent crust along the way - for a short time. Then as soon as something newer, better, fresher comes along: he'll dump them.

As is his way.

Aiden and Paige will flop. One has a bad attitude and the other isnt commercially viable.

Katie was saved because she was good for the show and more interesting than the other act. But that doesnt mean she will sell records. I think the huge negative press has killed her chances of ever being a credible artist.

Katie and the judges saving her led to contraversay - great for the show - plus they bought her out of her contract in the States - he wanted to make sure he gets his monies worth, had to try keep her in long enough for her be part of the tour I guess.

SyCo have the 4 finalists from this year only signed up according to their official Twitter, nothing about Mary Byrne so I suppose they haven't offered her anything but I think the most likely thing for her would be a recording contract with an Irish recording label e.g. like Jedward did signing up to Universal Ireland with Louis Walsh as their manager.

I agree,particularly with Aiden but I understand that Aiden has great interest and offers from other sources but little will be done until after the tour.

It would have been ridiculous to not sign up Aiden, (if that was needed to be done), since Aiden is 'the' one Simon said he would have brought back to the competition of all the acts who had gone out before the finals.It is clear from that statement that Simon clearly saw his immense talent.

He won't sign Katie up jf because he knows she was a loser with the public,not for just one week but all the weeks except for 2 in the whole competition,no surprise there at all.

Aiden has a massive future,he will get a contract if he hasn't got one sorted and in the making already.
