but if ruth had been around in victorian times she would have been burned as a witch

they did that in victorian times right?

That was more Tudor/ Elizabethan times they did that. Queen Mary burned 300 Protestants (Protested against the church) in her life time.

I think (but I'm not sure) that witches were burned mainly in Scotland and mainly long before the Victorian age.. not sure though *goes to google witches*

Scotland continued executing alleged witches until 1722; Janet Horne being the last to suffer this fate."

So yeah.. the burning of witches stopped long before the Victorian era :)
