We usually take ours down on the 5th/6th January.

My friend in NZ takes hers down before New Year because it's considered bad luck.

What's the tradition in your family?

I used to go for the 12days before and 12days after. Now, usually on New Year's Day.

The house always looks somewhat spartan though.....and takes a wee while to get used to not having the glitter and sparkly lights again.

Yes, it almost feels bare and that you're about the re-decorate.

The 6th of January usually, but if the 4th or 5th happens to be a Sunday then it comes down then. I wouldn't leave it up any later than the 6th though.

We usually take down our Christmas trees at the first week of January. Btw, that tree will be kept in our storage room. We're gonna use it again next year. I got it from Christmas tree sales

It goes up on the 1st December and is taken down on the 1st January.. It would totally depress me to still be looking at it after New Year's Day.
