Hi just found this

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Golden_Cage_(television) go down the pages till you get to British Version

British Version The British version of The Golden Cage is slightly different to the original Netherland's Version. The program is set to run for 4 months and will air on British television network Channel 5 from 2011, replacing the planned deal with Endemol to air a twelfth series of Big Brother UK
The programme is set to be hosted by Jonathan Ross

what does every one think?

Jordan.

Would have preffered BB. No doubt this will probably flop.

If that's true then at least it has a credible host

I thought it was meant to be the golden gate? and this looks fake. I hope to **** it is fake.

I won't believe anything until we get an official announcement since Wikipedia is pointless for stuff like this. I'm not that interested in the sound of this, especially if it's a nightly show.

Jonathon Ross says on Twitter that he isn't doing this show.

@Wossy are you going to be presenting a show called the golden cage on C5?

LMFAO at his response just a simple 'no. Happy New Year!'
:joker:

I think since Jonathan said that we can all relax and know that this is probably bullsh*t.
Most likely edited or wrote on Wiki in September whenever it was announced talks had 'stalled' between Endemol and Richard Desmond.

We must not jump to any conclusions or get excited for Big Brother 12 or The Golden Cage until we hear an official announcement from Channel 5 very soon, this month.

Besides,
If by some chance this was true, It basically ruins what I loved about the idea of the show poorly because of the fact it'd run for 4 months.

Rather than running for as long as possible depending on how the contestants walk out.

I would of preferred it where it could run for over a year or even more, You know?
We could literally be left with 3 people all wanting 1 Million Pound that badly.

If they do it like that, the original way, it could actually have the nation gripped to see it all unfold.
Seriously, If you think in 2019 when they do those 'The Teenies, Was That It?' shows on BBC3 where they look back on the decade, You can just imagine this popping up in The Top 10 as something that engaged people to watch and really got the country into Reality TV Again.

Either THAT, Or...

It could flop harder than Seven Days.

Personally I think it will flop but If they got this on ITV1 or ITV2, It could seriously do so well.
I mean look at The Only Way Is Essex, Who ever thought that would be as popular as it turned out to be!

Few odd rumours about at the moment. So...I am NOT hosting The Cage, and I am only a guest on the Stargazer thing. Thanks !!

Live astronomy programme on BBC 2. I didn't know about it till now. I'm quite interested in it actually.

Professor Brian Cox and Dara O Briain host three days of live stargazing featuring epic images from observatories around the globe.

Stargazing LIVE reveals stunning images from Earth’s most powerful telescopes - and beyond - during three nights of extraordinary astronomical events.

Join Dara for Brian’s crash stargazing course. Plus:

• Jonathan Ross discovers you don’t need expensive equipment to stargaze
• Live from Hawaii, Liz Bonnin explains how stars affect us
• The One Show’s astronomer Mark Thompson shares expert tips

Want to take part in Stargazing LIVE? Here’s how:

• Come to our great events
• Post your space pictures to the photo group
• Take our audio guides for a night walk
• Have your say at #bbcstargazing or here at Talk Stargazing

Got a question for Brian? Email it to stargazing@bbc.co.uk. Yours could be answered live on air.

Ew @ Jonathon Ross

but I do think CH5 will be better going with something new but similar. That way they avoid direct comparisons and disappointment. And it wont be a CH4 reject show.

Channel 5 are keeping tight lipped about all their shows until they reveal their stupid list, which is a pointless idea.
They should just tell us what shows are coming right away.

There has been some leaks and hints etc about Big Brother 12 though and has been since September.

But, just nothing major.

I check Big Brother and Channel 5's Wiki Pages alot to be sure.

But BB is a huge operation. It would leak outside of ch5. They can keep tight lipped about their other plans because nobody gives a sh!t. But BB info would have leaked elsewhere.

I think it would be doomed on ch5 right now. Maybe in a few years when people start re-remembering it with fondness...

No!! Now!!

However Big Brother 1.. wasn't that announced not long before it started??

I just want something in the form of Big Brother to come on this summer :( Doesn't exactly have to be Big Brother.. but please.. SOMETHING!

Eh? Big Brother IS Big Brother. No other show is similar to Big Brother in what it does. Throwing a bunch of wannabes and nutters into house, creating tension and drama.

The show is gone and people should move on. I say its gone because its such a huge show in terms of production. Lots of people who made it obviously have moved on from it.

In July 2010 a deal was almost offically sealed to air celebrity big brother in January that's why the rumours started.
Then Endomel got the idea of the golden cage and didn't sign the contract when asked too.
Then before Desmond found out about the signing off the deal was off he expressed interest in big brother and endomel are still pending the offer but obviously the celebrity big brother that was going to air this year didnt go to plan as endomel didn't want them to air it for some
Weird reason

I think Endomol would sell BB to Desmond at the right price. I bet Desmond does want to buy into Big Brother but Endomol are still asking for too much money? Could be as simple as this?

And you will all be bored this summer when there is nothing on!! Even the haters would want it back.

It needs to come back on channel 5. New production team, new house, new housemates. Should last no longer than 8 weeks. And always a vote to save. Kapeesh?

Big Brother seems to have had its day now. I think in the next year, many people will have moved on.

As for ch5 and their new line up..

has anybody seen the Vanessa show? Eww what a ******ing mess. She's obviously insisted her black toyboy lover gets a role in it so he hangs around like a right tool..occasionally asking dumb questions!

So don't trust them to come up with any decent BB type shows.

You really couldn't, channel 5 have confirmed discussions about BB ;).

Plus Media Guardian is the UK's leading media paper and Broadcast is the UK media's largest industry magazine and both carried the story (only the star carried The Golden Cage one, and their report was dismissed as nonsense by Jonathan Ross)..

who the boss of the star

Channel Five probably really didn't want to use the name "Big Brother" if they could help it, and they can't afford to do too many live shows, definitely not the big live evictions with big crowds C4 did. So Golden Cage was ideal - taking out the viewer vote, all pre-recorded. However they have realised that nobody will watch Five unless they already know the "star" or the show already since most of even their newest stuff has done badly. Hence them going back to the idea of doing "Big Brother" as the name will be guaranteed to pull in the viewers, at the risk of people once they see it thinking this is "no frills big brother" and it will be slated in the press. However while the name might be "Big Brother" the actual show may still end up being like "The Golden Cage" but with a different title - just they have probably found a way to keep some element of viewer participation in.
