after a piss-poor first 2 weeks, it's become watchable. Still hate Carr though... and Mitchell is a pretty bad interviewer. He stutters so frequently, but that might just be the nerves of it being live.

Its getting better but still not great. Carr is a gags man not a satirist and lets the whole thing down. Mitchell's rant are getting good but his interviews are still poor, Brooker is the best thing on TV at the moment, Laverne is out of her depth but I undersant why they need a female presenter on the team. I hope it runs for a while cuz it should get better and better.

Just announced that this will be getting a second series in early 2012 - but they've cut the series length from 15 to 10 episodes and the running time from 65 minutes to 45.

Darren Smith, the channel's commissioning editor for entertainment, said: "After learning from the first series, we're keen to cover the same kinds of stories, with a similarly acerbic angle but will be making efforts to make the running order a little more flexible.

"That means we will have regular items but you perhaps won't see them every single week. It's a slightly more bespoke approach to the news agenda that gives the show room to breathe, and hopefully room to be even funnier.
