No Doubt have announced that they have begun recording their new album.

Writing on the band's official Twitter page, guitarist Tom Dumont shared the news with fans that significant progress is being made on the project.

"Holidays over. 2010 done. 10 new songs written," he posted.

"No Doubt's 2011 New Years resolution: to record our new album... beginning TODAY!"

Dumont later reiterated that the band is committed to bringing the record to fruition, adding: "To clarify: last yr we were in studio mostly writing, just some recording. Starting 2day back in the studio, mostly recording. (sic)"

No dates have been set for the album's release.

No Doubt are to perform at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, it has been announced.

The 'Don't Speak' band will unveil the first single from their upcoming sixth studio album at the July 22 awards ceremony.

Gwen Stefani expressed how excited she is about the performance in a statement: "I can't believe this is actually happening. The idea of playing our new music live is heaven on earth. Can't wait to share it!"

No Doubt's appearance at the Teen Choice Awards will mark their first public performance together in a year and a half.

The ceremony airs July 22 on Fox.

No Doubt announced earlier this month that their new album will be released on September 25, nearly 11 years since their last LP Rock Steady debuted.

Earlier today (May 30) it was reported that No Doubt's fraud lawsuit against video game company Activision will go before a jury.

On June 11, 2012, No Doubt officially released on their website (via a press release) that their new album, to be released on September 25, 2012, will be titled “Push and Shove“. Also, they announced that the new single (which was also announced to be released on July 16, 2012) will be “Settle Down“. The music video will be directed by Sophie Muller (who previously has done numerous music videos for No Doubt).

“Hope you are sitting down because we’ve got some really big news to share with you! While adding the finishing touches to our new album we realised it was time to name it, so we did, and the name is ‘Push and Shove’.

The band had originally intended to release the follow-up to their 2001 effort “Rock Steady” before Christmas last year, but revealed in September that they had pushed back its release date so they could “make sure it’s the best album we can possibly make“.
